If inventory is zero on cover, you can do with out the alignment hole boss area being broken. As long as cover has no through crack for oil leakage. The alignment "hole" is nothing but that, no force is necessary to keep alignment correct. The crank bolt is strong enough to withstand the bolt...

Mine was $35-40? Sadly no stock on the one I bought. Search terms will bring up something. Since used on a wide range of models that are part of the ford/volvo/mazda trifecta.

Low compression on cylinder 3 65,000 miles

Pulled timing from advance tables on my VersaTune map. So would subtract whatever value was set for that cell. Washington State only has 92 and to double check KR added 100% methanol from fuels vendor to get 33% in addition to timing.

Low compression on cylinder 3 65,000 miles

Knock will likely happen. KR may be so bad it will pull timing advance. Your tune may have masked KR. I had same one hole blowby of 20% with a S3 and KR was 5-8 causing timing to go crazy. Tried 33% methanol because no other fuel choices, I pulled (reduced) advance 12 degrees and still KR. Thats...

Here's my only pic of that. So I've done this a few times (yeppy) when you had cams held in place by special timing plate (TDC compression #1) so you know cams are close to alignment. Tighten to torque intake sprocket with a wrench holding cam shaft at flats (safest to move special plate off...

Shooting for that 700hp stock flange

Nice pictures! Thank you for sharing. From previous personal water craft experience that using a small knife edge to scrape the sticky rust coatings on the steel "tubular" hose bibs while its so accessable. Just use very little force and do the scrape towards bumb edge, not removing or...

    Where does this wire go?

Thats the proper ground wire. When you get a chance carefully resplice oem wire, its so small no loose wire/wires when you make a permanent connection. Just double checking, that you correctly attached the two small connections. One is small black noise suppression device thats on back side area...

    Where does this wire go?

The larger wire you tried under bolt head is larger than OEM wire. OEM wire is likely inside that tape tail in the junction area of the loom. That needs to be grounded to allow ecu to moniter the coils, other sensors that are attached to that loom. Its small guage wire, so see if you can fish...

    Where does this wire go?

There is a brass ground wire lug that has the only loose single black wire in that wire loom. That odd brass triangle. On my other speed I rewired that ground wire to attach at intake manifold, since i don't use the hpfp plate. Notice its the only single wire.

    Clutch bleed simple

My normal bleeding procedure was also long and tedious. With the vacuum style (through bleed nipple) if threads are dry use some grease to help seal air leaks helps pull more vacuum through slave cylinder. Also while in bleeding operation a slight, VERY slight pedal movement (finger tap) to...

Issues idling/running lean with no CEL

Cobb tune, I'm guessing OTS? Is Intake larger than stock ~2.67" ? If so then you could revert to stock tune, then troubleshoot with a known tune. Once that happens, give us your logs. To much is better than to little. Short description of what now is the codes and drivability issues. MAF swings...

CP-E Motor Mounts, Should you Buy?

So some more feedback. As I said, my vibes were unacceptable with new built engine / balancer delete. Damond (race bush) PMM TMM and CP-e TMM. So went to oem PMM others stayed. Was tolerable on vibes, for me its also a body thrumming sound that was like hell to my crappy Tinnitus. After change...

    review: Fidanza Flywheel

Lacquer thinner cuts it great, cloth soaked work great. Acetone may work, sometimes it doesn't cut stuff though.

    Paranoid

Just in case the chirp returns, look at starter. Sometimes the bendix will stick, and once the engine flywheel gets faster than starter rpm can cause this. I usually only see in boat starters that get corrosion and bendix "axle" which is part of starter motor shaft will allow gear to stick in...

Engine idle with CS 4” intake

Only running a BNR S3, JBR 3.5" full path, Honey Comb air straightener. I use VersaTune and if you were able to get air flow / maf voltage your idle flows are almost flat line until about? 5% total air flow. So short answer yes, you will have low idle flow to partial throttle plate openings for...

    VVT Replacement Necessary?

Just replaced my VVT, and associated parts on timing. 08 Speed 3 Completely stock. 84k bought new, Redline Synthetic since break-in, 5k oil change intervals. I replaced because it needs to be done. Not because of any issues except miles. If you spend any time searching this forum knowledge...
