    Hi, have you met Lilith?

Please let me know how the bearing puller works for you. I have a kit like that, and bought it for the same reason as you. Been useful on many other projects, EXCEPT the control arm bushings. I literally got fed up and torched a LCA out of pure anger. Damn thing didn't die.

    More Suck, Less Starve

The fact that it can pick up fuel from just that one single corner of contact, is pretty amazing!

    Well its out!

It's true the rust on manifolds has to do with quality of the manifold, it also depends on where you live and the weather. I've seen cheap exhaust rot/rust here in FL, not to mention the weird rust you get on cars the closer you live to the coast. It's not like northern salt rust from winters...

MZR 2.3 Breather hose / smoke?

As far as I know, that vent tube is supposed to stay open like that on the firewall. As far as the catch can, as long as it was just mild smoke and it was cold and wet, you should be fine. If it starts smoking once it's warmed up and idling, could be worn rings or cracked ringlands. Based on...

    Well its out!

Swain Tech is awesome! It's some extra money and work, but I would totally recommend them if you are on the fence. I had the manifold ceramic coated by full race when I ordered it, just convenient. I sent the hotside of the BNR to swain tech. First thing that was obvious, quality...

MZR 2.3 Breather hose / smoke?

Yes, on a MS6 there is a breather hose on the firewall for the transfer case or something like that. I have a MS3 Gen2, so I forget the details. But the weird breather hose has been discussed plenty of times. As for the smoke, that looks like an oil catch can. Quite a few reasons for why it...

    Well its out!

Love it! If you want or need any info just let me know. I have a shit ton of notes written down from modifying these cars over the last 12 years. Everything from suspension tuning notes, to pics and data from heat management. There is a lot of stuff that mazda did right, and a shit ton that...

Penguin Mobile: "Jesus Built my Hotrod"

Is that ppf stuff what you put on your roof now? I'm open to ideas to help seal it once it's treated and painted. Yeah, about this mental health stuff.... it only gets worse with age... I flew out to NC last November for my buddies 40th birthday. (Same dude I bought the truck from) Our...

Penguin Mobile: "Jesus Built my Hotrod"

Update... It's a new year! Since the accident in Dec 2021 I had been fighting bad depression. Nothing new to me in my life, but the accident amongst other things made it worse. I got a new psychiatrist who is much better and has actually helped me a lot! It sucks that I lost almost 2 years...

    Well its out!

@Mtnbker3531 Smart phone fail It starts on Post#8 (Monster Torque Steer: Part Deux!) Build thread Basically, Mazda left a FUCK TON of room for improvement in handling on this car, just from proper ducting and aero. Part of it is the platform we share with the economy mazda3's. There are...

rear OEM bump stop with the rear Bilstein Prokit strut?

Those pucks are usually used to prevent bumpstop bind when the suspension compresses. If Bilstein didn't include them, don't worry about it.

    Ride height of b16 coilovers

Could be different spring rates than your previous springs. Your springs may settle a little after a few miles of driving. You may have also bound the suspension bushings at an awkward angle, if you torqued them down with the car in the air at full droop. If that is the case... Put the car...

    Blown engine

They could have run it without oil for a long time, and just worn down the bearing. I would be surprised if you don't find any pieces inside the engine as you continue dismantling it. Keep in mind that the previous owner may have done some funny shit to the car that he didn't tell you. If...

Need some advice on hid head lights

+1 for morimoto. Swapped out stock halogens for them years ago, and literally night and day difference. The beam is so much brighter and significantly wider.

    RPF1s!!!!!!!

Either 10mm or 5mm. But if doing 10mm or more you WILL need extended wheel studs. I've got 5mm spacers and extended studs, but I am a gen2. Frankly I don't think gen's matter since the concern is clearing the strut body.

    Loose steering rack?

Check your swaybar endlinks, and sway bay bushings.

    RPF1s!!!!!!!

255 ends up being right on the edge of thr rim. Regarding wide tires making your turning sloppy, you have to get like a 275 tire which pokes out way passed the lip of the rim. If that was the case, it makes all your handling sloppy, not just your steering. One thing to note, whether 245 or...

    RPF1s!!!!!!!

255 will give you 10mm more tread, over the 245. Might as well get as much as you can. 40 vs 45, the 45 will give you just a couple of mm's of height, vs the 40. Honestly kind of a minimal difference between the 2. I run 255/40r17 on my rpf1's. Last 2 sets of tires were the same size too...
