[IMG] An ECU tune is recommended after installation to take full advantage of the high flow of the downpipe.
[IMG]While the car will operate without damage, you may experience some surging or “hiccups”, especially at wide-open throttle. This is simply the car hitting airflow & torque limits in the ECU and pulling power back.
[IMG]Understand that each vehicle will behave differently depending on the number of engine mods you have on your vehicle.
[IMG]Example: Car 1 with SRI, TIP, 80mm Exhaust, and downpipe vs Car 2 with 63.5mm Exhaust and downpipe will flow/operate differently. Car 1 will likely be hitting the airflow & torque limits more frequently without a tune, whereas Car 2 may not hit the limiter.

    Hi Brian,

Just a few questions regarding the dp.

    Does it throw any codes?

    Is it carb legal?

I've seen posts where people got a p0421 but it goes away. Tuning will help a lot and can have it removed from being triggered. And it's labeled off road only so not carb. It's a send it type mod.

I remember getting that code occaisionally with the ms3 when I had a cobb dp.

I could clear it and it would go away but come back whenever there were large temperature changes. I passed NJ inspection being fully bolted and tuned. No sniffer.

I hope its the same with the cs dp. Planning to go turbo back at some point.

The ones who have had it have not had an issue so far, plus it was tested for a while before release. Tuning is recommended with it, of course.

I'll plan on that one for the future.

Going slow with the mods in case theres some warranty issues I need resolved on the new car.

CBE will go on before the dp. I'm sure the car won't run well unless I have a tune after installing the dp.

Lol if only it were that easy, I live in an apt now.

They "frown upon" doing work on the car in the garage. I have to do it late at night on a weekday when no one is awake.

Yeah. I feel ya. I would just keep it on a list of mods to get for sure.

It did not trigger a CEL during testing on numerous vehicles, but some customers have seen it initially after install.

The part is not CARB legal

Thats good, as long as it doesn't come back immediately after clearing it.

Will definitely get this later down the road.
