I just bought a used V3 cobb accessport. Went to install it and found out the previous owner of my car DID NOT unmarry his AP. In order to marry my AP I had to erase all data not realizing my car had a custom tune on it. Went back to stock map and now my car will not run (starts and dies in 3-4 seconds). I have a few bolt-ons and am certain that is the issue.

    Mods are as follows:
    - 3.5 inch cold air intake
    - c-pe tmic
    - autotech HPFP
    - deleted both resonators
    - damond turbo oil feed banjo bolt
    - stock turbo and engine otherwise

I did get a p0401 last week but it went away after the car sat a day. I already bought the EGR delete kit from damond and plan to install it this weekend. So it is possible but not likely the EGR stuck open is coming into play here as well.

Any suggestions from you wonderful folks would be greatly appreciated. I sent out some emails to e-tuners and am waiting to hear back from them. My best guess is I need a new custom e-tune since I have no way to modify the Cobb maps :(

Thanks for reading/comments. At the very least, this is a cautionary tale for those new to this. Be easy on me :p

Attached a datalog of my last attempts to start the car (two back to back attempts).

Someone learnt the hard way of the importance of asking for verification that the access port is uninstalled... Wait until you realize you still can't use it on your car unless Cobb resets it.

With that intake you're not doing anything until you have a base map for that MAF 3.5" needs one. You got a stock intake? Throw that on for now and see

Might be able to limp it around if you unplug the MAF. Would not recommend doing this for long though.

I can use my AP just fine. The previous car owner and his AP on the other hand are fucked unless it's reset by Cobb. You can marry a new AP over an existing install. THAT'S what got me in this mess. It had a custom tune installed on the car for the 3.5 and my other mods :( All of it erased on the new AP installation. No fucking idea why I wasnt paying more attention. Usually I am better than this. Lesson learned.

Dont have stock intake else I'd have tried it already. Hopefully, one of the e-tuners I messaged will get to me with good news. I was planning more upgrades soon so at least I can do a cheap retune if I have their base map. Trying to see a silver lining here :p

I messaged freaktune, stratified, damond, and drunkmann. Anyone have better suggestions or reasons to avoid any of these tuners?

Really dont want to damage my baby. Feel dumb enough for pressing "ok" on the AP install.

You could just go with an ots+ map from freektune for now, it's perfect for your mod levels and Justin will get your MAF cal dialed in

Yep, I just got an email back from Justin already. Says he is happy to help me dial it in. Great communication and very prompt. Looks like this is all gonna work out and I will have a proper tune for my setup. Woohooo!

You wouldnt believe the shit I am finding on this car. Had no idea. The kid that sold it to me owned it 6 months and I dont think he knew else I wouldve been charged out the ass.

    BIG suprises so far:
BNR S4 turbo (what? shitting myself)
    3 bar bosch map
    autotech hpfp
    grimmspeed electronic boost control

Kinda glad this all happened. It made me actually tear into the engine bay and find some treasure.

That's awesome. When I got my used engine from a junkyard it turned out to have auto tech HPFP internals.

Lol, confirmed. I just got through searching pics of intakes. Been trying to figure it out for Justin before I bother him again :p

Also, just realized I should be running a BOV with this setup. Currently has a turbosmart recirc.

BPV is fine dude infact it comes BPV as stock BOV is not oem setup, realistically you can run either but I wouldnt worry about being recirc

Good to know. I was just going off of what both damond and jbr said about their 3.5 inch:

"This is a non-recirc intake, where a blow-off-valve (BOV) is required. We offer a TurboSmart BOV here. May not fit with some FMIC hot piping."

If the intake doesn't have a recirc port, then you're technically already running a BOV.
What's that hose coming off the BPV going to? I assume it's just sitting there open to the air under the intake, right?

It connects to the TMIC/throttle body coupler. Also, confirmation on the HPFP internals...they are autotech. Woohoo! Sent my etune order in today with my mod list. Now to patiently waiting on my base map :)

It looks like there's a larger hose coming off the BPV in the pic, that might be going under the intake....Or is that an illusion?

Holy mother of god. I just got my base map in and took my first test drive. Completely different car. It's scary now and 10x more responsive :p Justin IS the fucking man. Worth every penny plus a tip. I cant imagine once revisions are done how it is going to drive. It's already near perfect. Thank fellas for the words of wisdom and support. I am smiling from ear to ear. Woooohoooo!
