I cleaned it out quite a bit since those pictures, it was terrible... yet, starting to build back up again since i took all the stuff out of my trunk for the subwoofer box. And yes, I only have one sparco seat in, the passenger can ride in comfort! :D Mine's a daily driver as well :x

I usually just bend the floater until it reads properly.. can clean off the harness, but if it's reading at all.. should be fine
