Lot of updates, but wave tops here. Had to get a different timing sprocket. Originally I was using the ecoboost timing sprocket, with 2.5 cam sprocket and vvt.
I ended up having to specifically buy a 2.5 timing sprocket and took it to the machine shop by me to get my keyway transposed onto my...
Got my Crowers and EcoTec retainers in, as well as my 625 studs. Once headgasket gets in, engine goes back together for the foreseeable future. Then goes into my 13.
As long as you can find a manifold that has exhaust ports with the same or larger diameter of the speed, and the same spacing, you can make it work. Some additional work may be needed to get the manifold to work in the engine bay though.
One of my lessons learned with the K24 manifold is that...
The teeth on them are much thicker compared to just DISI setup, so pretty beef. As for whether that increases longevity or not? Can't say. Surely someone has an idea, just not me. I use it mainly to use the keyed timing sprocket that I have. Long story with that one. It was a quick and...
Engine was taken out this week. Split the head from the block.
Put in CA625+ head studs, checked on general engine health while I was in there. Decided I'm going to upgrade the valve train since the head is off. Crower 68195s, EcoTec retainers. Nothing crazy, just a good bump up from stock...
Per Engineered Motorsport Solutions, block deck height for the 2.0 and 2.3 is 231mm. I can’t find anything concrete for the MZR, but seems like some aftermarket manufacturers suggest 231 as well (searching for P/N K640M875 lists the block deck height as 231 at least).
I've seen it asked before on various Mazdaspeed related social communities, and I've answered to the best of my ability. I've decided to create a thread that contains (hopefully) exhaustive differences that the EcoBoost 4 cylinders found in the Focus ST and RS (2.0 and 2.3) has in contrast to...
It was the wiring harness. Where the fuel sensor connects to the rail, that connector was heavily corroded, and continuity between pins there (none of the pins should be continuous with each other, they should all be OL).
After some corrosion treatment and scrubbing, all bueno.
1 & 2. Hard to believe that between two sets that the problem would be the same. One set of which was pulled from my 08 which I know for a fact was good. Still though, what ohm reading should be expected for the spill valve?
3. Replaced sensor, same deal. I happened to notice a lot of...
Been trying to figure this out for about 2 days now. My 2013 speed decided randomly it was done turning over--the night before it was just fine. Next day after work, nothing.
Oddly, symptoms seem like it would be the fuel pressure relief valve. Not the case though. Just in case though, I've...
