just to blow the dust off this topic. hahaha. if i understand correctly it is very possible to convert a gen2 mazdaspeed engine into a gen 1. but what is the advantage of a gen 2 engine block compared to a gen 1? my gen1 block is dead. cylinder 2 has left. so i am thinking what am i going to do...
