I enjoyed my s2 for the couple months I was running it. It was nice not needing more mods like bigger intake and other things. First mods to my ms6 were bnrs2, hpfp internals, 3" downpipe, access port, freektuned. It really did wake the car up.
No carnage, just a bunch of dirty parts. So what do y'all think, was there a ton of oil getting past the rings??
I kind of expected the rod bearings to be thinner....
Only thing left for a bare block is removing the girdle and the crank, but it's fighting. And I'm tired. Do y'all have a...
So dirty. On initial review though the cylinder wall looks better than I expected. Need to start cleaning parts and really calling around to find a machine shop.
Yeah, it really is weird that they failed. I know the mating surfaces were clean and I know I torqued everything to spec. I am very meticulous when it comes to these things. It is what it is though, looks like I will finally be able to justify the build I have been wanting to do.
Looks like I...
I'm thinking I might not be, but have no way of verifying. I'm running at correct psi and correct scfm. I was looking at some bigger 3/4 air impacts but they run at 9scfm and the small compressor I borrowed runs at 4. I would have to borrow a bigger one.
Let me check out the one you are...
Tried removing the crankshaft pulley and failed! My 800 ft.lb husky air impact couldn't do it.
A few places I searched online said an impact above 500 ft.lb should do it, maybe my unit is defective. Debating picking up something more robust. Or maybe I should just lockup the crank on the...
Interesting. I know I torqued mine down to spec. Only reason I put them in was because I was installing all new injectors. Where you losing a ton of oil as well?
Found at the bottom of the oil pan. Anyone have any idea where it might have broken off from?
Haven't completely disassembled because I want a compressor to remove the crank bolt, and that's where I'm at right now. Long block on an engine stand.
I'm starting to look for machine shops to take...
Only thing I know right now is that the injector seals failed. Why there was so much oil in the combustion chamber is the next question.
Have not found root cause yet. I am in the process of tearing the engine down and looking at all the components to try and figure out exactly what failed...
Pulled the engine. Getting a stand later today. Need to pickup the mess I have and organize things a bit before I tear down the engine. I got some good shots though....
In three cylinders. It looks like oil is getting past the valve seals. I wonder if my injectors are shot now that they had oil forced past them, probably the least of my worries. I'm thinking full rebuild. Engine has about 206k miles....it's time.
Car looks good! I am actually down in Lancaster. Bought my speed 6 back in 2012 with 70k miles. Sitting at 206k now. Been sitting for a bit but just before I had installed hpfp internals, downpipe, BNR stage 2 and lightweight flywheel. Had it freaktuned, it was a ton of fun! Really woke the car up.
I have the corksport injector seals. Replaced the injectors with 4 new ones, oem and corksport seals. That was 15k miles ago. I'm guessing the only way oil could get in there would be through the intake manifold. Which would mean bad turbo seals or bad pcv? I have a new pcv on there and did a...
What are y'alls thoughts on this oil leak? Some seems to be coming from the timing cover, but what gets me is seeing so much oil where the head meets the block.
I am finally going to take this all apart, but it would be nice if I was sure where all this oil is coming from. I was losing just...
