    Aftermarket rods & stock pistons

Yea I don't know what happened there lol. Some people get very lucky with motors, I have a friend with a bone stock LS in a 99 T/A, chugged down at least 100 bottles jetted for a 250 shot before it finally puked, but then again I've seen well built motors pop way before their time. Just me...

Lets talk about turbo blankets/heat wrap

I have my stock manifold and downpipe wrapped, made a big difference in temps, takes a bit longer to heat soak the top mount

Should I delete my balance shaft?

BSD, prolight flywheel, OG jbr dogbone and epoxied passenger and drivers mounts, vibes aren't that bad but makes the car sound like a diesel with the AC on and clutch out

    Aftermarket rods & stock pistons

If you own a Mazdaspeed and don't have one of these, give it time...... Pick your poison, 2618 will survive detonation better then 4032 but will beat the rod bearings up, 4032 will give a bit and break before it beats the bearings out of it, either way it will be catastrophic. The fact that a...

    Aftermarket rods & stock pistons

Very nice, King makes good stuff and a half dozen different coatings. I looked at them really hard and did a lot of research before going with them.

    Aftermarket rods & stock pistons

I understand what your saying and not denying 2618s isn't the best choice for a build looking to go 100k just stating the pros and cons of each material is not what it used to be and no matter what it's made of if not properly taken care of won't last. As far as proof, I don't have any except...

    Aftermarket rods & stock pistons

Definitely warming up a 2618 motor is very important, warming up a motor before leaning on it should be done regardless. The life expectancy of 2618 is a moot point with the machining and manufacturing anymore. I've seen motors lose a piston with very few miles on them no matter what the...

    Aftermarket rods & stock pistons

I have wiseco OTS I believe there 2618, zero piston slap and I'm at 21,000 on the motor, Manley rods w/ 625 bolts. Piston technology has come a long way, 2618's can run almost as tight a clearance as stock, wisceo specs .0015 a far cry from the 3 to 4 thou that was recommended 15-20 years ago...

    Which Clutch Should I Get?

I put a little over 50k on the one in my pro charged 97 cobra with and I only changed out the disk because I had the gearbox out, the pp and fw were in excellent shape and the disk though worn still had a few miles left on it. The one in my rx8 had 65k on it when I sold her, I'm right at 33k...

    Which Clutch Should I Get?

ACT prolight with 6 puck and HD pp here and love it, I've ran this setup in my 2 mustangs and my rx8 and now the speed. I'll never go back to a non puck disk. 6 pucks really are not that hard or bad to daily once you get used to it. As far as how long it will last, well you can destroy any...
