Darn. This is a tough choice. I’ve already had tuning issues before, so I’m really hoping to not ever see those again. Your intake is super cheap. Awa also made a good point of less clamps being beneficial. One less spot for unmetered air to sneak in. Does your price include shipping?

For anyone reading this and wanting to do this themselves, here is the fan I bought. for $40 more, you can get an aftermarket fan that should be a direct swap in. It has the cooling flaps and everything! Here is the other fan.

Update: I bought a new aftermarket 09 mazda3 fan online since it was a lot cheaper. I then took and tested it against my fan by turning on the A/C while the car was on. The fan should be running constantly at a medium speed when the A/C is on. The new fan runs like it should, and my old one is...

I’m in a very similar boat as you were. I have an 09 Mazdaspeed3 with 154k miles, just over 2k on the new engine I installed. The other day, it was 90 out and I was in the inn n out drive thru, car started getting hotter. I knew the fan turns on around 217ish, so I ignored it as it climbed up...

Also, is it harmful to run the CX-7 turbo in a Mazdaspeed3? Will I be doing damage, or just not making as much power?
