    street car gone road race

I saw in their thread that they'll install the anti-lift and powerflex bushings, and I'm considering it but just a lil worried it'll be way less comfortable than oem. Have you got them installed yet?

    Gregg's street/track genpu

Had what's likely to be my last track day of the year yesterday at Nelson Ledges. SWAS kicked in right away, and I was able to verify that holding the DSC button for ~10 seconds does in fact disable it in my car. The car did pretty well, I was passing pretty much everybody which felt kinda nice...

let`s take control of the SWAS

Ah okay, that's not so bad, TC can be super annoying so I turn it off frequently anyways. My gen Pu was also made in April 2012, holding the button down for ~10 seconds does turn on the warning light and prevent it from turning off until I fully shut off the car. So hopefully SWAS is disabled...

    Gregg's street/track genpu

That sounds terrifying! But looks like its a pretty easy job to disconnect, most likely I'll just unhook it for each track day and then reconnect

    Gregg's street/track genpu

Have you seen this thread? Apparently just holding the stability control button for 30 seconds in newer genpu's will turn it off? If so that's awesome, wish I'd tried it yesterday https://www.mazdaspeeds.org/index.php?threads/let-s-take-control-of-the-swas.4513/page-2

let`s take control of the SWAS

Do you know if it just disables SWAS or does it affect anything else? Will power steering and ABS still be functional?

    Gregg's street/track genpu

Alright, that definitely sounds like what I was experiencing. I took the car out onto a straight road to try and recreate the problem but just couldn't, it was only happening on track. And it absolutely sucked nailing the corners prior to a long straightaway and then finding that when you needed...

    Gregg's street/track genpu

Alrighty, I hadn't heard of it until now. This'll probably be my last track event of the year so I guess that'll be a decent winter project

I guess I'd prefer not to say which tuner since I'm only on the second tune (first after submitting datalogs). So I don't want to blame them yet as it's not a finished product. It is a reputable mazdaspeed e-tuner.

That limits power input depending on steering angle, right? How can it be disabled? Another update: I swapped to an OTS map for a session and the problem was fixed. I'm not on my final tune yet so I'll be sending logs to the tuner so they can adjust accordingly.

    Gregg's street/track genpu

I took a log with the problem occuring and without, I was having trouble getting it to happen on the street but just about every single time I was above 4500 in third on the track it would struggle. I'll post some logs in a day or two. Hpfp pressure seemed similar in both logs, fluctuating...

    Gregg's street/track genpu

Not the fun type of update. I was at mid-ohio last weekend, and my instructor and I noticed that in the top of third gear the car lost power. 4th was fine, but in third it seemed like it was pulling power. Today, I am at Autobhan country club near chicago, and am finding that the problem...

150 is still pretty high for BAT's though, isn't it? I've been getting just over 100 on the stock tmic, although you're putting down waaay more power than I am. What BAT'S were you seeing before installing the big boi oil cooler?

    Gregg's street/track genpu

Hmm alright, last track it was at 2.5° which was %100 way too much, dropped it down but didn't really have much time between runs to check tire wear other than pressure. What would I be looking for ideally, wear right up to the indicators on both inside and outside? And manufacturer's...

    Gregg's street/track genpu

Small update and question. I was back on track at Mid-Ohio today, the car did pretty great again, although the only thing I'd done was reduce rear camber to -2°. I'm also partway through getting the car tuned. My instructor and I noticed that 3rd gear really seemed to lose power up top, but 4th...

How many miles on your MS3

Well mine's not anything crazy. 3rd owner, 2012, bought last year at 80k miles, now at 95k. Daily driver (even in winter, which sucks), been to a few autox and should be 5 track days this summer. Original turbo, only mods being the SRI and TIP that were on the car when I bought it, and the HPFP...

    Short Track Build Suggestions

I've read that the eibach camber arms are rebranded and overpriced SPC's, which are in turn rebranded and overpriced AC Delco's. I definitely read that on here somewhere, do a bit of digging and you may find more info. And budget more time than you'd expect to replace them, there's this annoying...

Ah yeah, I haven't personally met Marlon yet but he's pretty active on the local Mazdaspeed Facebook page and has given me some helpful tips

    Gregg's street/track genpu

Yeah man, one thing I'm really debating right now is the brake pads I've got (hp+). They've done well for me on track, but they dust like crazy and squeal like a school bus when coming to a stop. This car is my daily driver so it's kind if a big nuisance. Did you notice the same? I'm thinking of...
