    My advice would be to cut the spacers off. It's gonna suck. You're going to have to put all new studs in anyways. Or heat it to the point it melts and use a slide hammer to rip the spacer off while the studs are semi solid/liquid

    Don't give up homie. We all understand your frustrations and have been there ourselves. Never considered valve springs as a possibility for creating a ticking noise but it can make sense. The stiffer setup would transfer more noise through the cover.

    I agree with EB. Is there drivability issues? Or just audible noise? Oil pressure good? Valve lash set? Running aftermarket injectors? My Miata ticks and the injectors are loud (Flow Force 640cc) but it runs like a champ.
