Maisonvi's Never Ending Build Chapter 2: Miata

Added a fire pull on the pass side so that either someone outside the car or a passenger can pull it if needed. Hopefully, it never gets used. Trying to be "done with the miata" and just run it. Next project is rebuilding my mini baja from my college days. I have 30 ac of land and Im going...

My wifes home town does maple syrup. Like they literally have a maple syrup festival that is HUGE for a town of like 1000 people (school closes for the friday before, parades, 1000s of visitors, carnival). Its nuts. Her dad runs the whole schbang, so yes, I know more than most would care to...

Fun fact: maple syrup is the save viscosity as 30 weight oil. Plus you smell like pancakes everywhere you go. Its the perfect solution.

    Sid's sleepy 6

No, hold the crank, and there is a little M6 hole/thread on the pulley/timing cover to locate the pulley. That little hole wont hold it for anything but location, but it will get the pulley in the right location.

Yeah prybar and the flywheel bolts will hold it with the engine out. I make a crank pulley tool thats for doing a timing job with the engine in the car. And to echo what @JohnnyTightlips said, you dont have to worry about VVT actuator position on the cam.

Maisonvi's Never Ending Build Chapter 2: Miata

Small updated. Added a plate made out of some 1/8" aluminum that I had my work bend up. Put some grip tape on it and now I can have passengers not put their feet into my electronics. I think at this point Im about done with mods. Its to the point where the car is WAY better than I am a...

    Short Track Build Suggestions

What you have is a decent set up. Fuel pump internals, and an AP with a tune will wake the car way up and net you some real power. If you really want to get on it look up an antilift kit. Front swaybar is not all that needed IMO. Motor mounts will help with the shifting a lot, so before you...

Maisonvi's Never Ending Build Chapter 2: Miata

I totally forgot the most recent, and most important mod. Due to my history, I decided that maybe a fire suppression system is a good idea. Went with a 4L system. Mounted the tank in the trunk and have a pull hooked to my "dash" with 3 nozzles. On on the driver, one on the fuel rail, and one...

Maisonvi's Never Ending Build Chapter 2: Miata

Well, I havent made a post in over a year on this thread. I really have slacked there. Have just been lazy and just post to my IG (maisonvi_mx5) Figured I would throw a bit up on here since its changed just a bit in the last year. First up, spun a bearing on the track at Midwest meet last...

    How to DIY an EBCS

I can see if I still have a valve lying around, but wire size is small, 20 gauge maybe? And I wouldn't worry about moisture, it shouldnt be getting that wet under your hood. Standard heat shrink should be fine.

    How to DIY an EBCS

Figured I would do a quick write up on how to make your own EBCS since I don’t think there is one on here. Don’t go spending all sorts of money on a Cobb one that is literally the same thing with a custom sticker (unless you really like custom labels) Depending on where you find your valve (can...

Suzuki GT380 Top End Rebuild Project

I have the cheaper flux welder (IE the cheapest welder HF has). I got it for free, and I will say its worth about that much. Curious how this one compares, because honestly the 90 amp one I have is hot garbage. The temp settings of "high" and "low" are not helpful, and at 90 amps its just not...
