I doubt it wlll be any hotter than a stainless knob, (which can get wicked hot). But a drink coozie over it was always my solution. Really any coating is an issue since I do such small quantities. Most have $150 minimum or more. so for a knob or 2 thats just not feasible cost wise

Because it flows like garbage and cast (non stainless) is cheap. It "works" but I have to imagine you are pushing more than a few extra psi to make power. If you have a giant turbo it probably makes less of a difference, but I have no doubt that its holding back cars that have it from making...

I think ebay turbos can work. But its a gamble. So if you are willing to take a 50/50 shot your turbo wont fall apart, then yeah, its a cheap way to get some power. I hate it when people are like "so and so did it and its fine", when Im sure there are failure stories too. (granted I think not...
