  1. JohnnyTightlips Build "Maximum Carnage"

If you want space, get the Turbosmart raceport, it's 50mm but way more compact. That's what I run. It's also not very loud, but louder than the tial by a smidge apparently.

  3. New to the forums!

Welcome to the forums. I love you.
  4. Ebay Parts

Don't bother with ethanol free gas... total waste with zero benefits and costs more probably. It's designed for boats or equipment that sits around a lot like lawn mowers, trimmers etc.

  6. Mango gets a 5.0 V8

I was looking for a Dragy like app that supports other external devices...looks like Speed Logic does that, nice. I just bought the full version and am about to try it. I have XGPS160 10hz unit that I bought a long time ago, I hope this works with it.

Lots of free apps that support the OBD2 dongles. And then several that are only a few bucks that are worth it. Torque Pro comes to mind as a good all around app for gauges/logging/code reader, but theres so many. I don't know of any that specifically do 60-100 or whatever based off obd data...

It probably uses phone gps which I wouldn't really trust too much either way. If you have an generic obd BT dongle that and a phone app using obd speed is a decent way to go if you have one.

    What app is that?
  10. My Ongoing Mid-Life Crisis

Well, it's been several months now and I still see no signs of SC belt wear, so that's good. Only lingering issue is a different small 4 rib belt does squeal on startup when cold/wet, it's a belt that powers the PS pump and alternator and when those things are under load and the belt is still...
  11. New DD, Audi S3

Don't worry bb, I didn't forget about you. It's a 3 car garage. About 32" wide and 24" deep. There's an extra little nook in one corner but that's the basic dimensions. According to google this is pretty typical. Having come from only 2 car garage in the past, this felt a lot more spacious...
  12. New DD, Audi S3

It's the same as the Golf R....mechanically the cars are identical. But it does not require removing subframe as far as I know. You do need a good amount of clearance because the stock DP is super long. I've read it's been done on quickjack which is about 24" of ground clearance. Another...
  13. New DD, Audi S3

ECUtek has a bluetooth/usb dongle and allows logging/real time tune adjustments via computer program or phone app, so that's actually pretty neat option as well. If they continue to dev out stuff for MQB platform I don't think I'll miss Cobb at all.
  14. New DD, Audi S3

They are very very similar. From what I can tell it's basically identical, just a slightly different "version number" or something along those lines. Probably similar to a USDM car vs overseas. Seems like it wouldn't be that difficult and worth Cobb's effort, but maybe not, we've seen where...
  15. New DD, Audi S3

Sold the Focus ST a few months back and got a 2017 Audi S3 as a new DD. I had a pretty big boner for the MK7 Golf R / their new MQB platform in general and wanted AWD. Ended up getting the S3 which is basically exactly the same as the Golf R, but it has nicer interior bits and looks better...

@mangosmoothie MONGO new car bump. As for me, S3 is around 5.48s
  17. BAT’s, what to do

E85 an option? With added octane you wouldnt have to worry about high IATs as much from a safety perspective.
  18. I need 4032 alloy pistons, how Mahle compare to Supertech?

I ran supertech 4032 pistons on my turbo miata and they were used in a lot of builds, i never heard of any issues. I know not super helpful or doesn't compare them to mahle at all... but I have not come across issues or negative things with them. I wouldn't hesitate to run supertech pistons again.

  20. My Ongoing Mid-Life Crisis

I am 100% done dicking with meth. I ran WMI on the old speed 3 and this car.... coincidentally both times the pump failed right around the 1 year mark. One was a daily driver and one was barely used over the course of the year and both were 50/50. I know some guys run the kits for a long time...
