  1. My Ongoing Mid-Life Crisis

@JohnnyTightlips I don't remember exactly where I left off but.... I was never able to fully fix the belt issues on my own and I was at the point of being so fed up and frustrated with it, i ended up taking it to a shop to work it out. It's a pretty good LS/domestic speed shop, so a little...
  2. BioBandit's 08 MS3

Sometimes you just gotta cut your losses and move on.... Been there, I understand that. Hope you stick around!
  3. How TO: Build and Perform Boost Leak Tester

OK i see the note in the steps now, cool.
  4. How TO: Build and Perform Boost Leak Tester

Did you disconnect and cap the line running from the intake to valve cover?
  5. I need 4032 alloy pistons, how Mahle compare to Supertech?

I can tell you in the LS world Mahle is one of the top/go to brands. I'm running a Mahle 4032 piston in my built LS1... i know way different engines but.... I have only heard good things about them.
  6. DIY Oil Cap Breather

Looks good man. Biggest thing I would look at when picking a check valve / pcv valve for this is cracking pressure. You want something with about as little of cracking pressure as possible, so it will easily open, and then at light spring pressure + gravity + crankcase vac will keep it sealed...
  7. Disi-MZResponse

    Being financially responsible sucks
  8. Disi-MZResponse

I considered that as a possibility, but a 25 kPa difference didn't seem to make it right either. You had about about 50 KOEO right? That's brings it up to 75.... But not close to the 90 you should be seeing. I forget the exact details of what you saw but does that sound right?

  10. Tired of my car already...

I agree with mango! There is such a thing as going too far with a car where it's no longer enjoyable and I still struggle with this sometimes. My MS3 I took too far, especially going full motor mounts, BSD etc... it was just a harsh ride. I tried to take my lessons learned with the ST and I...
  11. My Ongoing Mid-Life Crisis

I did a lot of research and thinking about this... here's my thoughts. I think a 2 post lift will always be better, even a short one like the MaxJax. Rolling around on a chair under the car would still be way better than on your back or a creeper. Portability: Quickjack wins, especially the...
  12. My Ongoing Mid-Life Crisis

Finally dug into the water pump swap project. Everything is apart, now I just need to put it back together when I get the time. I also got a new cold pipe, moved the IAT to the intercooler end tank (should give more accurate reading/not affected by heat soak and won't skew fueling calcs based...
  13. Anyone else love/hate logging for tune?

I did a remote dyno tune and IMO it was well worth it. $200 for the dyno time on top of the tune. But it was done in 2 hours including loading and unloading the car, no worry about going to jail or the tune taking weeks to sort out.
  14. My Ongoing Mid-Life Crisis

Made a little video testing out gopro location and audio. Nothing that exciting, but figured I would share:
  15. My Ongoing Mid-Life Crisis

I got a new OEM water pump. The one I have now is not a true OEM replacement. It's made by ACDelco, but it's part of their "professional" series which apparently means its made in China. I've read a couple other reports of guys having slight alignment issues running this pump and other non...
  16. Anyone tried OBDLink MX+ or the like?

Torque has a speed test function and I wanna say best I've seen with OBDLink MX is around 30 PID/s... ie, 3 params at 10hz, 6 at 5 hz....more or less. Way slower than AP etc., so it's not an ideal datalogger, but if you want to view 5 gauges while driving it works very well.
  17. 60-100 times
