How Honda Completely Eliminated Torquesteer on the New Civic Type-R (With No Nannies)

Did they really completely eliminated torque steer with the new Type R? I can't remember which review I've read, it was from Jalopnik I think, but the reviewer said it still had torque steer when getting on the power early. Of course, it is possible the reviewer was mistaking torque steer as...

What did you do to your ride today

Drove past 70k miles already, so oil change and tire rotation. Car seems a tiny bit loose or twitchy on the highway. I think it's because one of my tires has a lot more thread than the other three. On WOT passes on the highway, the car seems to want to pull to the left, which is where the newer...

What did you do to your ride today

I applaud you for semi-daily driving your Roush. I don't think that will work for me unless my kid is older. (I would drive it everyday though if I'm older and my kids were adults already.) There were a number of months or phases that my kid went through, where he did not want to be put on his...

What did you do to your ride today

Maybe I'm getting old or maybe having a kid has changed my perspective, but I think the RS is too hardcore for a daily driver. I think it is a track car first, daily driving car second. The Golf R on the other hand is a daily driver with more power and AWD, which I think is more in line with my...

What did you do to your ride today

Yeah if for some reason I had to replace my Speed3, I'd get the Golf R if I can afford it (since I think it will be a great comfy daily driver) or the 2018 WRX. Still hoping Mazda would wake up and put out a new Mazdaspeed model though.

What did you do to your ride today

I just drive my Speed3 a lot. It has been on a number of road trips as well. I think it is a lot of fun to take on road trips. Other drivers underestimate its capabilities on the open road LOL. It has been very reliable for me as well. I've thought about replacing it with a Mazda6, but I don't...

VersaTuner for 2016- (ND) MX-5 Miata Now Avialable

Owning an ND is still on my bucket list. It is good to know that VT is also now available for the ND. I've noticed that there is a tune available for the Corksport catback for the ND. Are you guys partnering with Corksport for some future tunes? I think a number of SkyActiv Mazda3 and Mazda6...

    Reverse Stagger Question

That would probably be dangerous to run on the street, I mean with the skinny tires on the back.

    Reverse Stagger Question

Funny, but that's actually a somewhat correct description of your setup. You have grippier tires on the front, which in a FWD is what you want anyway. The drag strip guys for sure this is what most of them do. Don't know about daily drivers, which is what I'm more interested with. I was...

LMAO. Sorry but I just laughed so hard at this comment haha.

    Cooling For Long Distance Drive

The Speed3 was made for road trips. It will cruise when you want to relax but has the power to pass and not be bullied on the open road. I love it for road trips. I've done a couple of road trips on it already and I've not had any temp issues. I do make a point to stop at the designated rest...

    Reverse Stagger Question

That is a valid reason to stay with a square setup. I guess this is a big sticking point if the car is used mainly as a daily driver.

    Reverse Stagger Question

Considering that the Mazdaspeed platform and its owners are really performance oriented, why is it that there is hardly anyone running a reverse staggered setup on our cars (other than those going to the drag strip)? I think I've seen one person in MSF do this and another in Instagram, but...

What did you do to your ride today

I have no doubt the performance improvements and increased throttle response are real. I was merely addressing the NVH aspect of it. You've said it yourself, that you notice the increased NVH but you don't mind it because it is offset by the increase in performance. There's nothing wrong with...

What did you do to your ride today

I think this comment is hilarious but also true. Honestly, the way some people review the motor mounts makes it sound like there is negligible increase in NVH. Of course this is totally dependent on how sensitive the driver is to NVH. But it might mislead others who would underestimate how much...

What did you do to your ride today

Not today, but last Saturday was state inspection time for my car. I had the inspection done at the Mazda dealership. It passed, no issues even with racepipe (though it does have a high flow cat). I got free snacks and a car wash as well.

    Stage 2 RMM for Mazdaspeed!

Almost sounds like my cp-e stage 1 RMM. Tempting, but I need to sort out other stuff first before getting a new RMM. Notably, I need to look into a PMM first. I wonder if CS will also redesign their existing PMM...
