[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

Yeah he is going to still be way down on power compared to a healthy motor but given he hasn't probably felt it at a good compression it will feel fixed to him at least lol I drove mine until it smoked like a freight train at wot and decided it was time ** insert piston with missing ringland **

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

One thing about making good power again is it could be hard on a half good engine. Hopefully it works well for a while though!

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

Glad you found the issue, and also sorry it is probably the ecu. Curious if a reflash from mazda would fix it. Might bs worth asking about it via phone or whatever with a local mazda dealership.

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

This could be a good thing to reset it all. I have heard of early on when the speeds first came out people had issues with it going into limp mode which I think is basically like what you're describing

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

Honestly all this leads to some sort of tune/ecu/electrical issue imo man idk

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

Have you actually removed the turbo to check for issues with it? When trying to boost did your AFRs go stupid rich or anything of this nature?

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

I still think it must be ecu related. Hopefully you don't spend so much screwing with the current problem that you can't replace the motor if it turns out to be the issue.

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

I am stumped as well. Hopefully it it is figured out but I will tell you now that pulling the head on this platform requires you to re-time the engine and buy lots of new vvt stuff so might as well pull the motor at that point. Just my opinion but all that stuff is easier to do out of the car...

[SOLVED] No power, enters limp mode on acceleration

Have you tried flashing a different map onto the car? Sometimes weird things can happen when a tune messes up. Obviously you're way beyond that at this point in the mechanics of it but just curious. Honestly seems like an electrical issue more than a mechanical one to me. Why else would it not...

    2011 speed 3 underboosting

So there are warm parts of Canada year round like we have in Florida or TX? Interesting

    2011 speed 3 underboosting

Good news about halfway freezing to death while working on your car is that you usually don't feel nearly as much pain at the moment of impact lol P.S. -- This post excludes all Canadians on here as they withstand abnormally cold weather on a daily basis)

    StreetSpeed’s DD 500+ MS6 Build

I might end up having to just weld the adapter on but welding stainless to cast isn't ideal at all obviously lol

    StreetSpeed’s DD 500+ MS6 Build

Well because I want to know if it is the material that sucks or the bolts loosened and it failed. If it fails again I will know not to use this stuff but that $3 gasket is probably $10-12 by the time you ship it and it isn't in my garage already. That is the perks of using this gasket material...

    StreetSpeed’s DD 500+ MS6 Build

So I pulled the exhaust manifold and lo and behold it is the wastegate adapter gasket. I think the bolts loosened up and then it blew out the gasket material as it isn't a stainless or copper gasket. I'll give the bolts an ugga dugga and a healthy portion of blue loctite along with a new...
