Bilstein B12 Prokit VS KW V3

I just put the B8s and Swift Springs on last week and so far it's been great! I'm really happy with the drop and the ride.

    Mazdaspeed 3 Journey for a non-owner

Some of us have been unlucky then. While I agree with you for the most part I had a different experience. I did take care of my car and well by 142,000 miles it was motor time. I also think that expecting to get 200,000 miles out of any turbo high performance motor is a bit of a stretch...

    Well its out!

They are basically the perfect fit front and rear. Cleance up front just barely misses the strut probably 1/4 inch. The rear I think there's a little more room on the inside but I don't think Konigs are available in a different offset that would allow not rolling the fenders. I based this...

    Well its out!

Well some things have happened. I finally got around to lowering the car. Swift springs on B8s as well as a Whiteline 27 mm RSB and a TB Performance rear lower tie brace as well as some Meyle E46 M3 front swaybar endlinks. I did install the Whiteline Bumpsteer kit as well and did not have to...

Car sat for a long time. Crank, No Start...

It will but it's only pumps to a point and stops so it's a LOT of ON/OFF. I tried it initially and the relay jumper method is the best way if you have more than a couple gallons. No something is wrong there's a way to make that pump run continuously its been a few years since I've done it...

JohnnyTightlips has a link to his build thread if you scroll down. There's a picture which will give you a better idea. The actual info is in the FSM located in the Metal member section. https://mazdaspeeds.org/index.php?threads/draining-fuel-from-tank.12242/

1st pic unplug that hose and attach a different hose to the output of the ITFP. Route said hose to wherever you plan the pump the fuel to. That's the method I used to drain my tank. Make a jumper for the appropriate contacts in the fuel pump relay in the fuse box under the hood.

I think I have a can of AC Delco Top engine cleaner laying around un opened from when I was going to do this. Then I realized I needed a motor o_O https://mazdaspeeds.org/index.php?threads/low-compression-help-and-possible-fix-acdelco-x66p.7695/ Anyhow if I do and you are interested I could...

OP I saw you asked about how to perform leakdown to try and figure out where your possible issues are. For that I would point to YouTube. EricTheCarGuy and ScannerDanner are both excellent channels for troubshooting and both have content on Leakdown and Compression testing. I'm sure there are...

    Suspension Questions

I mean honestly from looking at your age you probably won't find the Bilstein Coil overs too harsh ;) I've run some suspension setups on the stiffer side on a different platform when I was in my 20s. I'm 45 and I want a performance oriented setup for the street but I'm less tolerant of things...

    Suspension Questions

Between those two choices I'm with Mauro Penguin, Bilstein all the way. Between the Bilstein C/O and the B8/Swift set up my understanding is the C/O will be a more firm setup as it is more oriented towards track use.

    Suspension Questions

Bilstein B8 with Swift Springs is another popular choice. I'm currently in process of putting this setup on my car. I've had adjustable shocks/struts in the past and once they were set never touched them again. The B8/Swift combo has been done quite a bit and everyone who does it seems quite...

    Replacing rear hub and bearing

Yeah they were very stuck from over 9 years of being my DD in Chicagoland. Car saw road salt and winter. I did treat it with Fluid film for the past 5 years but corrosion has a way of finding places. I was on the verge of giving up and sourcing some nice used trailing arms from a salvage yard...

    Replacing rear hub and bearing

HA! I just had this battle myself, after beating the ever living fuck out of it with a 5 LB hammer, and heating with a torch and making ZERO progress I said NOPE. Went to Harbor Freight and bought myself an air hammer with a chisel attachment. Still took quite a bit of effort but I was able to...

    Torque Steer

So I'm not going to get into the semantics of whatever behavior OP isn't happy with and what we want to call it. I can tell you that the Damond RMM and the TB Performance Torque Gusset made a HUGE difference in how the front end of the car behaved. I am VERY happy with both...

Can't help you with logging for FORSCAN on the laptop but from what I remember on mobile it was easy to figure out and I'm far from the smartest person here. I'd poke around the FORSCAN forums maybe or Google. As far as the fuel is concerned I'd probably want to drain the tank and put some...

To answer your question about accurate gapping with the coin tool, you don't! The iridium center electrode is brittle and will break easily if too much force is applied. I use this tool and a feeler gauge to check gap. If you compress too far you can use needle nose pliers to grip the sides of...
