    Bought not Built

Took some time to toss in an AEM 340LPH ITFP today at a whim; picked it up cheap and new, came with an EOM filter and tank O-ring. Overall not a bad job by an stretch, one piece of advice - Rent a tool to rotate the locking collar; it's way easier than trying to tap it in tandem with a friend...

Yeah with the ducting all in place and the front pretty well sealed up, it could be that I'm just pushing it way harder than before so it would be much higher sans vent. My 225s still have a decent amount of life left in them, probably another couple of track days - Figure I should try and kill...

Been a bit since my last update: I LIVED BITCH Car still goes strong - did my 2-day track event in early September, had a fantastic time and only lost one IWG c-clip, which meant my IWG was stuck open, leading to no boost on the tail end of me 3rd session on the last day. Thankfully, we were...

HELP…Been driving with oil levels well below the minimum mark…

I ran my car pretty low on oil inadvertently (dry dipstick) for a not insignificant amount of time - didn't realize the consumption was as bad as it was (is, but lol), and I haven't had any problems in the 2 years since then with a lot of really hard beating. If it's acting happy with new oil...

    Raider's Neverending love/hate with Christine

Yeah sounds like a bullshit excuse to me; aren't you prepping the surface if you're painting it anyways?

Why are you at the dyno again if you're pulling the motor later?

    FMIC and Coolant Temps

On a Gen2 you probably don't since it lacks the under-hood ducting of the Gen1. I would try the undertray and side pieces, that by itself should make a noticeable difference. I have a TR8 with all the ducting in place and it's extremely solid, echoing all the points in the thread. I wouldn't...

    FMIC and Coolant Temps

This is the link (DIY: Radiator Ducting Gen1 (FMIC woes) | Mazdaspeeds.org, The New Era in Mazdaspeed, CX-7 & Ecoboost Forums!) for how you can make the side ducting, it's really only effective if you get your undertray in place and seal off everywhere else you can as well (like with this: JBR...

Thanks - found one BNIB for cheap on FB Marketplace, should be here in a couple of days. Final step is to source the dump pipe.

So my Tial 44mm EWG came in, can't wait to get it up and running in a couple of months. Since my BNR S3 is IWG, do I just need to uncap the vacuum port, or will I require a blocking plate to prevent armature movement?

JBR 2007-2009 Mazda 3 & Mazdaspeed 3 Oil Cooler Review

Great write up, unfortunate outcome. Can't say that I am totally surprised... Damond is without equal in the space in terms of quality, but Corksport wins out with instructional clarity.

That's really awesome, I don't know whether to love or hate that muffler but it is definitely novel! I think I'll go your route and just grab some piping from Autozone, mock it up and either take it to a shop or have a buddy with a harbor freight welder give it a go. Thanks for the information!

    Building for the road course...again

I think a lot of that is the camera mount moving, if you watch car -> track it doesn't look as bad as the whole picture. Gotta stay in those higher RPM bands to take advantage of the VTEC, sounds so frantic!

Saw something I never thought I would see; a nearby (1 hour away) Cosmic Blue Speed3 for part-out, and it was in really decent condition too. My heart skipped a beat, and of course I had to get the hood and a JCSpeedworks Hood Vent. It's been a longtime dream of mine to have a spare vented...

I used to do it at my autocross events, but honestly since the new setup my car doesn't encounter any knock, and I use the AC to keep my coolant and oil temps at 190 at the starting line during staging. The TR8 will typically drop 30 degrees right off the bat if I'm at 140 for example on start...

Continue to be surprised, had a really fantastic time at my first track day on the 14th, the little Mazda that could! You learn so much about your car and its limits at a track day with a good sustained beating. I also did another Autocross yesterday where I got 5th overall out of a field of...

It does look nice! Hindsight I probably should have just found an OEM one and slapped it on, but impulse buys will do that and the money doesn't really bother me. It actually isn't really heavy, I had no problem moving around the whole setup with one arm under the car, largely negligible.

That's true - I don't even know how long it's been since I drained that thing; if I have to drain it often enough that it's an issue I probably have bigger concerns.

Probably will, though it should have been a modular section of its own like the oil filter side.
