Hands down the Rivals were better all around IMO. However I can't give an exact comparison since both of these tires were on different setups, but the Rivals felt better to me. They inspired confidence, they were like just do what you do, and we'll cover the rest lol.

If not costal, and not 40 or 50 miles a day, then I would look for the ultra,max,performance type of tires. lol. They can be scary after water starts to pool, but if not to common, then that is what I'd choose. Somme are better for straight line, others for turning. Honestly just have to read...
