    Should I replace my PRV?

Hey man, I'm glad to see you got your issue sorted. Have your fuel trims stabilized now that you've replaced your PRV? Mine fails the test, but is not completely broken and my fuel trims are completely wonky. I've spent a lot of my own time troubleshooting and paid a shop to troubleshoot...

Negative LTFT at Idle, KR at WOT

I disconnected the vacuum line and plugged the end...ran the same as with it plugged in. The chat in the Shoutbox this morning thinks my PRV is failing...not a full out failure like some, but it doesn't hold pressure very well.

Negative LTFT at Idle, KR at WOT

Don't get me wrong, I know I haven't officially ruled out a boost/vacuum leak at this point. I have a replacement BPV recirc on route as well...found it was cracked (so also a possibility). I have an appointment on the 18th with a local tuning shop that has done work for me in the past and...

Negative LTFT at Idle, KR at WOT

Appreciate all the help guys...I really do. Enki had me do a KOEO check to make sure my MAP sensor was correctly reporting the vacuum pressures at idle, as mine seem a high (-8 or -9). This checks out okay, though I'm going to confirm with my tuner that he scaled me to a 3 bar MAP sensor and...

Negative LTFT at Idle, KR at WOT

Haha, I know that boost = + psi and vacuum = - psi. I should have been more clear in my clarification to him...when he says vacuum should be more than -11, is he saying more negative (< -11) or more positive (> -11)...I'm assuming I'm higher than I should be as per Enki's original comments...

Negative LTFT at Idle, KR at WOT

By vacuum being over -11, are you referring to my boost pressures, which are currently sitting around -8 to -9? I checked the PCV and OCC lines and they are perfectly fitted and all clamps are tight. I would like to unbolt the throttle body and intake manifold so that I can retorque them, but...

Thank you Gents! I get nervous when confronted by a bundle of wires...I want to cut one of them, I just don't know which will deactive the Zoom-Zoom Boom mod. Probably all them... :roto2nuse:

Thanks man! Was gonna ask about engine tape or something.

Negative LTFT at Idle, KR at WOT

As a bit of an aside to my thread, @Awafrican, part of my recent mods was to relocate the ECU to the top of the fuse box as I found it had been rubbing on the intake. I'm having some issues with the relocation due to the cables, which are bound by the white plastic protector. Am I okay to...

Negative LTFT at Idle, KR at WOT

@Enki / @Awafrican, I was doing some reading on the forums, and I was wondering if I should also explore the pressure relief and spill valves as a potential culprit? I also read that seals within the HPFP could be a cause of rich LTFT at idle issues...and as noted by @Enki, my car is running...

Negative LTFT at Idle, KR at WOT

I removed the hose and put my thumb on the end and no difference between it connected to the purge valve or being plugged by hand. So I think the purge valve is good. I think I will just drive it around like normal for now and install the JBR BPV recirc hose when I get it, and try a WOT pull...

Negative LTFT at Idle, KR at WOT

So I rechecked the PCV and OCC setup. The PCV retainer ring was secure, all hose clamps were tight and secure also. The check valve arrows point towards the intake manifold. While I have the car on jack stands, I was thinking I could snoop check the test pipe I installed last year to check...

So I ran a compression test on the engine and it all checks out okay: Comp 1: 169 Comp 2: 170 Comp 3: 172 Comp 4: 167 I've uploaded some pics of the spark plugs as well...they look a little sooty, but i also only took the car for a short drive around the neighborhood before doing the...

Negative LTFT at Idle, KR at WOT

So I ordered JBR BPV recirc hose and intercooler hoses, as well as the JBR thermal insulating intake manifold and throttle body gaskets. I'm starting to suspect a leak from the throttle body...i had issues torquing the throttle body to the intake manifold. EDIT: what is the best way to clean...

Negative LTFT at Idle, KR at WOT

So quick update...there are no updates, yet. I was looking at the condition of some of my hoses and vaccum lines. I found that the valve cover breather to the intake was a bit loose and had partially slipped off. I also noticed a hairline crack in the BPV recirculation hose where it clamps to...

Negative LTFT at Idle, KR at WOT

Okay, thanks guys...appreciate the help. I'll try that out and see what I get. I'll also try to give the MAF a clean. EDIT: KOEO boost levels are 0.15 psi...so seems to be okay.

Negative LTFT at Idle, KR at WOT

Thank you @Enki What does KOEO mean? I thought so too about the boost pressure at idle...should be more vacuum, right? I had the MAFCAL checked last year before the map revision to account for the 3 bar MAP sensor. The tuner said it was great at that time. I'll pull the plugs to do a...

Negative LTFT at Idle, KR at WOT

Hey everyone, @Enki I'm creating this thread as per your suggestion. In March / April, I took it upon myself to walnut blast the intake valves, service / clean the fuel injectors, replaced the injector seals with Overspeeds, replaced the PCV valve in the OEM PCV plate, and installed the DM...

Why You Should Check Your Fuel Injectors

All me and @Awafrican can say on this matter is...YES...buy the CS injector puller tool. That tool is worth its weight in gold if you need it. Also, Mazda will just try and sell you snake oil to clean the injectors. Only way is to remove them and have a shop professionally clean and...

Dipping fuel pressure/won't boost past 10psi

Sounds like it could be your fuel pressure relief valve stuck open or your spill valve in the HPFP. How many miles on your car and when is the last time you serviced the HPFP? Do you have any datalogs of the condition? EDIT: you mention you've been at this for weeks. What have you tried so...
