I don’t see anything that says it’s FL22. I didn’t think that was a requirement as much as it allows a longer time between changing.
Based on what’s been happening while trying my egr delete I’m about to just say fuck it and do a flush.
Sad cuz FL22 is good for 120K or 10 years.

Went to Walmart for coolant. Looked for Zerex in red bottle. They don’t have it stocked. Checked their site and there is a red bottle but looks diff and says Valvoline on the front.
Then I get there and no dice. But there is a blue bottle that says Mazda approved. So WTF?!
Blue. Red...
You’ll have to let us all know if your adventure follows the typical 1-2-3 rule for such things.
1 project takes 2x as long as anticipated and cost 3x budget.

Point taken. I guess dirty valves are just the cost of doing business when it comes to DIZI. I better store my custom vac with tube tool I made this past weekend :)

Son of a...isn’t going PI about $1000 investment? Saw a few vids on it and thought that’s what I heard. Worth it? Hmmm

That being said, now that valves are clean...is there a method I could use (such as that CCR GDI cleaner method) to try to mitigate build up? I know there’s no way to stop it other than adding port injection.

I never noticed any issue with my power or anything. But over time it has probably dwindled a bit. I guess we will see in a few weeks when it’s all back together if I can tell a diff.

PS - anyone thinking of doing this but not certain if they wanna take the 5-10 min to cover the engine bay and tape it down...don’t think twice. Do it.
I’ve seen a few vids on YouTube where they just wanna use ship rags to catch shit when blowing it out or even using walnuts.
You can buy...
Their jacks are solid and so are most of their toolboxes.
Anyone have luck with any product getting the black gasket residue off their block and mani?? Break cleaner no worky

So I’ve had 3 Mazda 3s covering two designs. I’ve liked them both. Yeah clown smile is a thing but nowadays it’s mostly blended in. When the new design came out in 14 I was a fan of the sedan. More particularly the face. I liked the way they were going. I liked the 6s and was happy to see the 3...
Saw a YouTube vid where a guy removes the hopper and drilled the holes out a tiny bit. If it doesn’t play nice I may just do that.

I had to go exchange my gravity gun and picked a set of nylon brushes. Figure that’s better than wire brushes and can try to get behind the valves. Hope none of that shit breaks off tho. I’ll done one final blow out of the ports before I say done. Have 6 valves soaking now. Have been some 11:00...
My car has just over 48k miles and I’ve had an OCC on it since 450 miles on the odo. I’m sure there were other ways to mitigate blow-by but an OCC is a good one. Here’s one of my valves before cleaning for your reference:

Getting the intake manifold off was the most annoying. Mostly cuz I didn’t know about the other 3 bolts that aren’t visible. Once it was off I felt much better. I’ve yet to clean them but Shouldn’t be too bad.
Don’t worry about some walnut bits making it into the cylinders. They will burn off...
Per Nishan, that doesn’t really work either. The light staying on doesn’t actually do anything but stay on. The one true way to disable SWAS is to unplug the connector under the steering wheel. Again, per Nishan.
