    MS6 Downpipe Difficulties

Just food for thought - the OEM upper downpipe gasket is like $70 for a reason. eBay you’re lucky to get a $7 gasket. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looking for help on rear coil springs

Or the 100 lbs worth of tools I keep in there at all times because I never know if I’m gonna blow a coupler off my intercooler boosting up a mountain on the way back from Indianapolis. LUL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    MS6 Downpipe Difficulties

That’s typical of a bad turbo/downpipe seal. Did you use a new upper downpipe gasket? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sorry, I originally said I wanted to order shirts but then my entire office got laid off due to this whole Covid-19 catastrophe and I went into poor mode. If I don’t make the cutoff this time around and there’s a next time, I’ll be in then for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

HPFP drop at 5k rpms wot (auto tech)

Check your grounds, harnesses, fuses and relays. It’s also a good idea to take a small wire brush to the contacts and give them a shot of electrical contact cleaner just for good measure. Any time you see 0v on anything, it’s a pretty good indication there’s bad contact. Check the pins, too...

HPFP drop at 5k rpms wot (auto tech)

It’s really hard to read a log without knowing a little more about the setup. Either way, your tuner should know way more about your map since he is tuning it. But something is obviously not working correctly. All the “odd” fuel pressure drops I’ve seen were either relief valve, dying in tank...

    Smoking when Cold

That could be any one number of about 500 things, but based on experience only, if you have catch cans I would check for blockage in the catch can hose. Sludge can pool if the line has any dips or kinks and clog up the line, then melts when it gets warm and frees back up. I once had a...

HPFP drop at 5k rpms wot (auto tech)

Sounds like limp mode, which is usually a cracked or loose coupler or pipe somewhere in your plumbing post turbo. Your car tries to make boost, loses that boost immediately, and the ECU detects something is very wrong and shuts everything down to prevent damage. I had something like that once...

Difficulty starting, rough idle, loss of power

What injectors and seals did you use when you replaced your injectors? OEM? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Difficulty starting, rough idle, loss of power

Leaking passenger side axle seal is incredibly common for anyone who has ever done an engine swap or clutch replacement. Those seals tend to get hard and brittle over time with heat exposure, which is 100% of the time in a transmission, so all it takes is for the axle to bump it when you’re...

Difficulty starting, rough idle, loss of power

Since the intake manifold has to be removed to replace the injectors, I would begin my search there. If you’re using the stock IM, there is a spacer on the backside of the bottom right of the manifold that the bolt goes through. It is VERY easy to lose if you’re not specifically looking for it...

Best Engine Oil - All Mod Levels

I can’t speak for their regular oil, but I can tell you I used Amsoil break in oil in my fresh build and the old girl was not happy with that stuff at all. Immediately switched it out for regular ol’ conventional 5w30 and she was much happier immediately. I don’t care how well the oil lubricates...

    Solarsurge's Ongoing 2013 LSM Build

OK! So, I worked on the beast today and I have some good news and some bad news... For starters, I had said before that I had never leaked a single drop of fluid from my car in 5,000 miles. Well, that all changed. In the last week or so, apparently my Oil Filter Sandwich plate came loose and...

Best Engine Oil - All Mod Levels

Well, not exactly empirical evidence or anything yet, but I can tell you she LOVES the 5w30 Castrol EDGE with Titanium SN Plus stuff. Just changed over from Brotella and this is easily the smoothest and quietest it’s run since I built it. Also the exhaust smells clean like it’s not burning off...

Best Engine Oil - All Mod Levels

Just be careful when you’re buying oil because retailers are still selling through old stock, some of which does not meet SN Plus specifications. If it doesn’t say Dexos Gen2 on the label, chances are it’s not the SN Plus rated stuff. It’s also a good indicator of how long that oil’s been...
