I need 4032 alloy pistons, how Mahle compare to Supertech?

Ok, reviving old thread. I need to rebuild the engine again. No one using the Supertech pistons?

    Cracking spark plugs

Ok, the engine is fucked. 2200kms from rebuilding it and like 6 WOT pulls. I replaced the NGKs with Denso ITV22s and when one of these cracked they released a shot of porcelain inside cylinder #3. Cylinder 3 probably lost most of its compression so about 700ml of oil were pushed up through the...

    Cracking spark plugs

You know... some engine builder/tuner told me the same thing on a Facebook group (it's a good group, not one of those bull of BS). I used copper rods in the past when I was having a problem and those sets did not crack with or without the coils modification. Actually back then I was changing...

    Cracking spark plugs

I was logging when it happened... KR was 0.7 during that pull. Yes, it's that engine...

    Cracking spark plugs

There is a spring in the coil boot so if the spark plug is a bit longer, assuming it's not a lot longer, that spring will compensate for that. As for the pistons... the spark plugs need to protrude quite a lot into the head to comein contact with a piston, Like an inch or so. It's not physically...

    Cracking spark plugs

Ok, went from bad to worse. Probably I just fucked up a 2000kms old engine.

    Cracking spark plugs

Since the only truly different thing is the CS cams, could it be that there's some weird vibration that is tearing them apart? I'm using Crower springs but this is what I had in the past with the other engine, on OEM cam shafts though.

New engine, old issues still haunting after rebuild

Ok, so this was caused by cracked spark plugs which I opened a different thread for.

    Cracking spark plugs

So after wasting about $1500 trying to diagnose the issue here: https://www.mazdaspeeds.org/index.php?threads/new-engine-old-issues-still-haunting-after-rebuild.8988/ I figured my spark plugs crack for some reason. They crack in the coil boot area as you can see in this picture here: I finally...

New engine, old issues still haunting after rebuild

I thought about that too... but it's too much of a coincidence for the problems to start right after the rebuild, and also if the PRV fails you'd see the fuel rail pressure going very low. In my case FRP is good... Basically that's the thing, everything looks good, I get no errors that I can use...

    Oil Leak - Built Motor

There's a chance that the oil burns into the cylinders and it's just a few drops that pour on the block. 2 litres of oil sipping down the block can't go unnoticed... they leave a pretty consistent trail of gunky crap on the sides of the engine...

New engine, old issues still haunting after rebuild

Ok, I remember cleaning that one... it's right there on the valve cover.

New engine, old issues still haunting after rebuild

Do you happen to know where that goes? On that big metal bracket under the intake? I just noticed my back-up lamp works intermittently, maybe it's something stupid wherever all these attach. The gearbox sensor should be ok as it was just fine prior to rebuilding the engine. Mine looks ok, but...

New engine, old issues still haunting after rebuild

So back in June I had a catastrophic engine failure caused by some work we did on the factory intake manifold: VTCS removed and slightly ported, and the holes between the runners were sealed with some studs and then the fabricator used some melted tin to hold them in place. No, it was not a good...

    Longer flywheel bolts

And after 60k they were not OK any more or that's when you had to work on the clutch again for different reasons?

    Longer flywheel bolts

With the SouthBend flywheel we need to torque the flywheel bolts at 3/4 of the factory spec (90Nm instead of 120, or like 66lb*ft instead of 90) because the SB flywheel is thicker and the bolts will catch fewer threads into the crank. Does anyone know of any flywheel bolts that have the same...

I need 4032 alloy pistons, how Mahle compare to Supertech?

Went for the Mahle's eventually, just did not buy them from SP63. I'm done with them forgetting to put things in the package or making parts look like they were sold as bulk and not as a set. The pistons came in a box, all parts inside.

    Cheap Valve Spring Option

Ok, so I'm using the factory manifolds, therefore I purchased a set of CS cams to benefit from a bit more lift and improve flow through these restrictive manifolds. I don't intend to rev past 7300 maybe 7400, right now I have the rpm limit set to 7150 (with stock cams and crower springs but that...

I need 4032 alloy pistons, how Mahle compare to Supertech?

Ok, I just damaged my engine last Saturday so now I really have to rebuild the one I have in the balcony. Anyone else using 4032 alloy pistons others than what SP63 is selling?

    Quicker steering rack

As some people who came here from the MSF know, I've beed searching for a solution to quicken the steering for quite some time now. I finally found a company based in Poland/Europe which does exactly this and could make us some quicker steering racks. If they do a batch of 5 the price would be...
