JgamB's "build it before you blow it" thread

The engine is home! And the turbo is sitting here nice and quiet like, waiting to see what it can do. Here's a sneak peak of this untested unit:

My video review of the DM Threesome

Lol - well at least I know you watched the whole thing. And in that same vein, I don't know of anyone else that insisted on retaining the balance shaft for their forged build. This guy did. :handpointright::handok:

    JBR under car piping video.

Jamie replied on FB somewhere that it was tested to 40psi for prolonged periods of time and that the inflation generally doesn't increase any more than what you're seeing here beyond 18psi. I spose I'm going to find out.

Keeping your dick out of the load balancer will make this less painful, guaranteed.

JgamB's "build it before you blow it" thread

I don't like down time or wasting money, so I opted to jump on seasonal specials while my car is still running like a champ on the E85 Freektune / BNR S3. The benefit here is I've now got a core worth a substantial amount of money, and if all goes well, a weekend swap and no time spent driving...

    JBR under car piping video.

I have the same kit and a lot of WOT miles on it at 25psi / BNR S3 and haven't had any issues. This does pucker my anus though because my built engine was wrapped up yesterday, and the plans are 30+ PSI. I'd like to know if Jamie has confidence in this piping to hold 3.5bar pressures. I don't...

The DISI-MZR fuel system (Warning: Science Heavy)

I like the premise, but would also like to see more logs corroborate the 4-4.5K RPM "deficit". http://revisionsrus.com/logs/128 might also be useful to you. This log has my car hitting 2.5 load at ~4.4K RPM, and it hasn't been corrected for the hidden open loop trims. You can see it lean out...

How to Clean your EGR Valve on your Mazdaspeed 3/6 or CX-7 to fix the P0401 CEL Code

Nice - also the reason I don't suggest people simply unplug the EGR and wipe the code for a "delete". If it's crudded up, the default closed position may not be fully closed.

My video review of the DM Threesome

When you're taking a 10 minute video, you have to talk - so my reactions to the NVH (what little there is) were more like a wine taster examining the bouquet and using flowery verbiage to describe the bold fruitiness, hint of raspberry, and dry finish. That last pull was where I realized I had...

My generic BNR S3 install guide

Yessir - there is quite a bit of material out there with pics and I probably have some on the PC here as well, but they tend to leave out the nuances of which bolts to remove when so you don't have a floppy donkey dick turbo while trying to remove a banjo bolt, etc. Plenty more opportunities...

It is what the title says. I know, crazy stuff.

    One mod

From the ~20 failed PMMs I've kept tally on, a great majority of them ruptured between 65-85K miles. That might help rule in / out the PMM decision.

My generic BNR S3 install guide

BNR S3 INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS Drain coolant. There's an enormous Phillip's head plastic screw on the bottom right, back side (toward the fire wall) plug with a drainage passage. Get ~1 gallon out of the car and then tighten it back up. If your under body tray isn't a mess / missing like most...

My generic BNR S3 install guide

After doing a few of these, I decided to make a text guide that filled in some of the blanks that I'd seen in some of the more visual guides. This thread will be much better with pictures of course, and now there are more professional installation guides available from vendors such as...
