    Ecu issue?

Small update: Last week I took a look around for any pinched or stretched wiring. I checked the ecu pins and wiped out all of the surrounding area. Made sure the intake clamp wasn’t rubbing on anything. Everything looked good. It seemed to be fine this past week. The only thing I noticed is the...

    Ecu issue?

Ah I didn’t consider the harness. I have noticed it is pretty crusty in some spots. I may end up grabbing a new anyway. I did not remove the ecu during the install but will still check.

    Ecu issue?

I’ll start by mentioning that i had the car apart for an injector swap with overspeed seals, added a perm pcv plate, new oem pcv valve, and a cs sealed catch can with a check valve. Other than that, nothing has changed. I did not remove the intake or anything that may cause an ecu failure due to...

Lucky find! I never see speeds in the wrecking yard near me. I guess that shouldn’t be something to complain about either though

Recommendations for Tuning. Freektune vs Stratified. Crackle or not.

Freektune, purple drank, drama tune. All are good and two of those three have expressed to not even ask for crackle tunes lol. Just delete the cats and get a proper tune. I’m sure you’ll be satisfied with that route

    Intake Manifold/Valve Cleaning Question

Set aside at least a full day if it’s your first time. It’s not difficult to do, there are just a lot of steps. Especially if you haven’t ever removed the intake manifold. Having a buddy who has done it along with a good amount of beer will help a lot

    New speed 3 owner

Upgraded internals are essential for these cars. Even if you don’t have plans for mods it good to have the piece of mind. With just the internals and a tune you’ll have a much better time.

    New speed 3 owner

Whalecum! Make sure to verify if you have hpfp internals before doing anything else. The only way to tell is to pull them from the hpfp itself. Don’t listen to anyone that says you can tell by reading pressure on the ap. Might as well buy a rebuild kit from Michael Rey while you’re at it. Good...

    Tire size GenWon with RX8

Awesome! If that ends up being a problem, a 5mm spacer will help. But again you’re looking at possible rubbing on the fenders

    Tire size GenWon with RX8

At stock ride height you should be fine. If you plan to lower it you’ll have rubbing issues and will need to roll/pull your fenders

[SOLVED] Misfire/Hesitation under slight load at highway cruising speeds

I’m just going to reiterate the importance of a pro tune or even just getting the base map+1 revision from freektune. Cobb ots maps are dicy. Also I just read back and saw that you are cruising at 2k-3k in 6th. I wouldn’t suggest being that low in the rpms in a higher gear especially when going...

[SOLVED] Misfire/Hesitation under slight load at highway cruising speeds

From the looks of it, you have an ots tune of some sort. I would suggest getting a pro tune. If I’m wrong about that then start by closing up the gap on your spark plugs to .028 or desired gap from tuner.

I hate to be this guy but I have a wheel/tire question

You may have slight rubbing in the rear on bumps or after you lower it. But those specs are basically the same as stock other than the offset. The rear tabs are almost always an issue when doing anything to the suspension, wheel offset, or tire size
