It did not replace the factory fan controller, because I am now telling the fans to come on before the factory temp setting. Therefore, factory settings never come into play unless my module fails.
Thanks for the feedback EB. I considered that in the past, but remember reading that someone else with a built motor did it with not much effect, as the BSD is weighted for stock internals, and aftermarket internals were a different mass, negating the effectiveness of the BSD. I suppose I could...
Hey guys. Had an issue with my rear main so pulled the motor and am taking care of a few things while it is out. Addressing an additional VTA catch can, new oil drain line, etc and also took it upon myself to order a fluidampr.
Some back story; built the motor 6 or 7 years ago now, has run...
I have them dialed to right where I want them. The fan was kicking on around 178 and off at 168ish if i remember correctly. I can adjust this in 1* increments
Following up to this thread. I ended up getting 4 new coils and replacing my coil harness with a spare I took off my last donor motor. This solved my problem. I was able to identify a bare wire inside the harness that I believe was my culprit. Thanks to all for their help.
Some very interesting suggestions in here! I will start interrogating my harness some more. Luckily I was smart enough when tearing down the last car to keep some spare harnesses. Might just try swapping right off the bat and then work backwards.
The fuel pump resistor is fairly confusing as a...
So this one has me a little confused. Just got my speed6 out this year early this month, had been working on getting an aftermarket fan controller hooked up. Got that wrapped up and she had been good for a few days. Probably put 300 miles on the car, between a short weekend trip and a couple...
I can't remember if it was a relay issue or the potentiometer itself.
I did get this system installed and it has worked really well thus far. Temps stay right where I want them, oil pressure under control, all great stuff. Until a new issue I'll save for another thread....
I ordered the the thermostat and the Davies Craig fan controller, going to try to hook it direct to factory fans and bypass factory fan ECU. Will report back with results.
Yes I am running the Mishimoto 10 row cooler
Additionally, anybody run this on their car?

My next question, looking at the wiring it appears that the ecu sends a signal to a separate fan ecu that sends out two sets of two...
Good thought, and appreciate the feedback, but the car has had AC removed. I suppose hitting the button may still tell the computer the same thing though... Really just want to not think about it anymore. Tired of manually intervening.
This kit seems pretty legit. Might just give it a go with...
So cutting to the chase, I have an issue with my idle oil pressure dropping too low when my engine inevitably gets into the 210+ F range. I have been running T6 as this has really good heat resistance properties and the oil seems to thin out slower than the Mobil1 I ran previously. I do not want...
Update to all of this.
Pulled the trigger on the Mishimoto kit that gotovauto ran, and it made a world of difference. I also pulled the AC condenser, made new baffles for the radiator, got the undertray on, and installed manual slim fans to push on the front of the rad. I have run 2 or 3 tanks...
OP I would not assume that your OTS tune is "safer" than a higher hp tune and a larger turbo. These OTS tunes make you feel fast by rolling on a ton of torque low in the rpm range, which is what really puts stress on the bottom end. I would be more nervous running a K04 with an OTS tune than a...
Hey man, not sure what you did (if anything) before this issue popped up, but I had a lot of similar issues after I built my motor and it was that I had misaligned the crank pulley to the crank pulley sensor. The engine would crank all day, and I would show super low HPFP readings, so I bought a...
Something to look into for sure. By doing all of this I am likely bandaging a problem from a different source, but
the fact of the matter is that until my coolant hits and inevitably surpasses 200 and continues to soak there, my oil pressure is fine. I drove 45 minutes to work this morning and...
