Did you check the fuel pump resistor? I've heard of people bypassing it, but if it's unplugged or just bad, your car will start and almost immediately die.

Yes, as soon as reasonably possible. That bushing will fail, dropping the transmission onto your LCA and CV axle.

Is the fuel pump resistor plugged in? I forgot to connect mine after one of my engine replacements and it would start and almost immediately die. I still don't know why, but once I connected it, it ran fine.

That was my thinking as well, especially considering the mileage. Need to check compression. I've never noticed it smoking after idling awhile; I've probably idled 15 to 20 minutes several times. Even over 30 minutes before and no noticeable smoke.

Might be normal then. Airflow will be different from stock, so your fuel trims will be way off. The only fix is a tune.

Stock intake? Since you're not tuned, it wouldn't matter; trims should be close to 0. Between +/-10. If you have an aftermarket intake, you need a tune.
