I was having a P0300 on cold start for many years, sounded like a VTCS delete on start up. I tried many things, any nothing fixed it, and i was just bypassing the cold start. However, I just changed my intake manifold, throttle body, and VTCS solenoid, and it has fixed my issue. Hope this helps...

UPDATE swapped my intake manifold and throttle body with another used one….problem fixed!! Cold start is totally normal now, no more misfire! thanks for everyone’s suggestions and input, I hope this helps some of you.

I've tried cleaning the MAF many times, but I doesnt really help. I do monitor the coolant temps, but I've never really monitored them to see if they match ambient temps pre start up. I can tell you, they seem to be behaving regularly with driving conditions. It's not even that the car runs...

I have the exact same issue, and also tried pretty much exactly the same stuff you did. Does yours sound pretty rough on cold start? like RPMs dipping and bouncing back up, similar to a VTCS delete? At this point, i just slightly depress the gas pedal on start up to override the cold start.

Well, I should have known not to speak so soon! Once it got warm enough outside, the misfire came back on cold start. Seems to only happen when the outdoor temp is above 15* C or so, when the rpm’s really ramp up for an extended period of time on cold start. Didn’t happen once when it was colder...

Quick update gave my coil packs a really good cleaning, checked plugs, cleaned MAF, and swapped my Cobb Sri filter with a new one, since mine looked to be full of mouse pee or something… and bam! Last two cold starts have been perfect, no misfire, no stuttering, just really smooth. I have no...
