I thought that was old news and has since been addressed by CS. To your point he’ll have plenty of time to evaluate, it took me months to finally decide between S3 and Cst4.
Thought OP just wanted a fun daily though not racetrack or drag slip.
CST4 fully spools at around 3200 and goes all the way to redline (6500 or more depending on motor) while K04 spooled
at 2800 and dies around 5600. That’s at least 400 more RPM of fun.
Once he upgrades turbos 1st and 2nd...
Cst4 is another great option too. Compromise spool time for a bit more top end but it’s still super fun and reliable. I’ve been dailying mine for over a year and I love to beat the crap out of it lol
Assuming your car is healthy (leak down & compression test hold up) Start with hpfp internals, an accessport, and a rear motor mount (Jbr or DM) I’ve had both and loved them.
Then move on to flow mods: 3.5 inch intake (since you plan on turbo) and down pipe. After TMIC should suffice as you...
Well, I’m hoping I’m one of the guys who’ll be able to post a 40k update on the build lol. Myself, my buddy, and my family mechanic looked over it and all seems to be nice and tidy - no zip ties seen haha.
It’s really mind boggling how many good reviews I see out there and then run into the one...
If you have the money and can wait for a motor I would go with speed performance. I just got to 1.5k miles on my stage 1 long block from them and haven’t had issues with it yet. Paid about $10.5k total which included long block & install + clutch, flywheel, slave & master cylinder install...
Age is just a number man! Hope you enjoy the car, it's damn fun! Also, did you get high pressure fuel pump internals? Don't see that in the list of mods you purchased. If not, please do so or else all the money you just spend is at high risk.
Came with car bro but Nishan told me to get a 3.5 asap so I can get the most out of my set up. Honestly though, compared to my b20v hatch, my car is fast as fck and I don't know if I really need more power for now.
Hi Everyone, putting this out there to help anyone who may have experienced what I did. I know I will get flamed for a dumb lazy f***k and not doing this check first, but here we go....
A year later - new turbo, full bolt ons, and a crap load of posts/emails/calls... the issue I was having...
I've adjusted before as directed by Justin... I've been trying to solve this since April.
1st time =2 full turns
2nd =4 full turns
3rd = maxed out preload
Every time boost went up a bit but never exceeded 13.5 and always dropped to 6psi in high rpms.
At this point CS wants me to check for...
Nah bro, you literally need to export the csv first, save it, open it and then SAVE AS. When you save as, change file type to .xlsx.
AP also exports in csv... i convert to .xlsx before checking/manipulating.
If I am understanding correctly, you're saying that you can't modify (format, create pivot tables, etc.) the data tab of the CSV file? If so, it is because you need to save your logs as .xlsx (or excel file) before being able to. One you have done that, you'll be able to modify the data to fit...
After checking my new logs, Justin has confirmed that boost is still significantly dropping (~6PSI) in the higher RPMS. It sounds like the WG is opening too early or easily based on the comment you've made above.
Hoping CS can help me settle this!
Thanks again for your help man! Just did this and sent some logs over to CS. Seems that with doing this routing, my WGDC never exceeds 50% and as a result I am holding ~11.5PSI all the way to 5500RPM. Previously, I'd start seeing a drastic decline in boost once I passed the 4800RPM range. I'm...
Hi everyone, as I'm trying to isolate my boost issue to either the wastegate or EBCS, I've been instructed to do the following:
"Have you tried hooking the boost reference line off the turbo directly to the turbo waste gate itself to see if the problem is still occurring or if its hitting...
New to MSO. I've owned my 2011 Pu for just about two years now. Purchased her with an AEM CAI, borla axleback and no name race pipe. Now in fully bolted, bigger (corksport) turbo, and working through some boost issues while getting tuned. Love the platform!
