I want to see one taken apart. Just by looking at how it's built you can tell such as does it have a block girdle? Closed deck? Oil squirters? I've seen some non turbo blocks missing the turbo oil return port on the back of the block. Different intake manifolds. 2.5's are plastic, different...
I haven't used the built engine yet. Short block is done and has been sitting in my garage for a while now. I'm on a JDM cx-7 and it's running mint. But that gap is perfect. Justin confirmed it and it was confirmed here in other threads. Manley's recommendation is way too loose.
Unmodded will mean stock pcv and egr so the valves will be filthy, as well as the intake manifold. You can pull the turbo outlet hose to see how oily it is if the turbo is leaking. With how old the car is, rubber parts will start to deteriorate. Garage kept will age slower. Also need to get it...
Yeah no kidding. I was blowing fuses though. ENG BAR2 at first one time then ENG BAR 3 times. Also taped up some exposed wires on other connectors (evap, boost solenoid)
Well It's fixed now thanks Enki and Easter Bunny.
I finally got a code P2088 "camshaft position actuator A control circuit low (bank 1)" so I looked around and finally found that the loom was shredded from rubbing against the serpentine. I patched it up and it's running perfect now. Should I...
Enki, you're a mad genius! I blocked the VTA ports at the plate and it seemed to fix all bucking until I went WOT and it came back. I notice a lean spike and g/s spikes as well. Added log, it was in 2nd gear.
Agreed. It's not ideal but I did it only cause of budget. Otherwise I would've just bought a nice Damond or JBR can. It seems to be working fine as I'm finding it catches a good bit of oil, water, fuel. The second can in line catches about 1/2 to 1/3 the amount of the first.
I'll reinstall the...
The vented can is this www.amazon.com/dp/B0C23DH22X
Then I have two sealed cans for the pcv. www.amazon.com/dp/B0B18537V3
I'll get pics. They are inline to get more filtering.
Damond plate - the two extra bungs goes to the vented can- 5/8 hoses all around and Damond check valves.
U know what I could try is blocking off the two vented ports. My pcv valve has unknown miles on it. Can a bad pcv valve cause this? When I installed the Damond pcv plate I cleaned it out with brake cleaner and listened for the spring and tested it with air and it was good. Also when boost leak...
