I don't wanna mess up your math too much, but I just had the engine in my FD RX-7 rebuilt and I'm over $20k in. I went big and had it done by an expensive shop (Addicted in Tennessee) who used a lot of new parts, but yeah. Prepare your anus. Rotary mechanics are hard to find and they'll charge...
Sick wagon! I've always liked those things.
If you go to the RX-7 club and hit up members Fritz Flynn or Max_Spd they're usually parting out an RX-7 or two. Might be a good resource for clean parts for the engine. I'm 99% sure you can find a nice OMP.

You got it.. Remove black shit, sand and treat the rust, bondo/sand if needed, then use Sem Trim Black to repaint.
This happened on my old P5 and we made it look new again.

The old rule of thumb when buying wheels for your car:
Cheap, Light, Strong. Pick two.
Work, Advan, Volk, Blitz, CCW, BBS, Desmond....
All better than any knock offs. I'd save up a little longer and get some legit wheels before I threw my hard earned cash away on something that is weaker and...
It also weighs nearly 450 pounds less than an MS3 so it's almost as quick (a little over 1 second to 60mph), except it corners much better and gets an extra 5mpg.
3,281 lbs vs 2,843 lbs
Racing Beat swaybars and exhaust, Racing Hart wheels, sparco pedals, Kenwood system with sub.. all OEM from...
A Mazdaspeed Protege (MSP) does 30mpg. Not an MS3 though.

MPG: 24 city / 30 highway
Curb weight: 2,843 lbs

I realize this is the MS3 forum, but I...
Hopped in my MSP after a month long trip to Kauai. It fired right up on the 1st crank after sitting in the rain and NorCal winter storms. I thought the battery would be weak or maybe some water would be in the trunk or at least a low tire.
Nope. All good. 12+ years later I still love the thing...
It really depends on what you wanna do. You're right about the 2JZ. If 1/4 mile racing is your thing, That engine is the king.
But for road racing...The FD weighed less, cornered better, and had less computerized driver aids going on.
Thanks for the compliments, you guys. It's been a long...
Hey there MSO. Long time, no post. I'm still around, though, and will be in Mazdas for life! I've actually had my eye on a genpu or two, but other shit keeps coming up and I'm perpetually broker than a baby's toy. So our MSP will be my daily driver for...who knows?
Screw that though, this...
My car was under the knife all summer. I didn't get to take it to the track at all this year!
lol Now that it's raining, the turbos are finally here it's all sorted out and it's almost ready for tuning.
Killin me!
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but you're positive it's not the alternator? I read what you said about testing the voltage, but maybe it only acts up under load or something.
Mine was a Hard Dog Xtreme. I never got turned down at the track with it. It also didn't mess with the seat travel at all. I'm 6'2" and still fit fine.
Here's the Z-Engineering centrifugal supercharger. I used to love the way it sang when you got on the gas. I miss that car!
I do have a Mazda though, and it's front bumper is infamous for deforming and shit too. I also may buy an MS3 one day, since I have been in and around Mazdas since the 80s. So YOUR statement is invalid. :eusa_dance:
I was just curious. Didn't mean to offend anyone. Thanks for explaining it a...
There's gotta be a better solution than two (4) black circles on the front of your car. I don't have a 3, so I'm talking out my ass, but damn. No offense, but that looks like shit.
Maybe a beefier OEM style bracket? Or maybe put those hangars under the hood so they can't be seen? I dunno. I'll...
