So, my OEM coolant reservoir/tank is leaking. I've looked at aftermarket options and the only option seems to be the aluminum one from Corkport, which is also pricey. Is there a reason I should go for the Corksport one over an OEM replacement?
Hey guys, I picked up a new daily recently and have been considering dropping collision and comprehensive insurance coverage on the Speed3. For those that have a different daily driver than the Speed, I was wondering how you guys have your Speed3 insured?
When I was active on M247, there were users in there who just killed the mood. People asked about mods and they will shut it down saying mods are pointless. They were intent on pushing their view on you (ie. you're stupid for wanting to mod, etc..). I felt like I was spending too much mental...
I did not know such a group exists with that many members on FB.
Also, thanks for the info on Dongar Adapters. Their product is much better than the one I currently have, which is something that has pins on it, that you have to plug into the back of the rearview mirror.
Which CX-5 forum do you go to? You might have better luck with Mazdas247 for info on CX-5s.
Also I too wired our dashcam into the rearview mirror on our CX-5, though ours is a 2016. The connection's been unreliable lately, like it's loosened up or something, and the dashcam turns on and off...
Got my LUK clutch/DMF combo replaced last week with an SBC Stage 2 Endurance setup. Currently just trying to get break-in done. 198 miles of city driving done, 300 more miles to go, argh...
I see you specifically noted that you didn't use any LSD Additive. Does your car not make grinding/rubbing sounds when doing low speed full lock turns?
Dang... my AC has been ticking or rattling lately when the fan is on. Am really hoping I don't need to get the blower motor replaced, this looks like a lot of work. But thanks for the write-up!
1) 2013
2) 104,500 miles (owned since new)
3) Original motor
4) Daily driver
Bonus: I just wanted to improve on some aspects of the car, to make it a better daily driver.
I had a set of DWS06 before. Not bad when new, but got very loud as it started to wear down. Wasn’t really that impressed with it. I’m currently running Cooper Zeon RS3-G1 tires and i like them over the DWS06. When i have to replace tires, I’m getting the RS3-G1 again. Cheaper than the DWS06 and...
Thank you for the info! Unfortunately the carplay upgrade is on hold. I've got 104K miles on my speed and it looks like the stock suspension is starting to go. For the first time ever, my tires are showing signs of cupping.
Hey guys, it's been awhile. I recently got why wheels balanced and the tech said, one of the rims is slightly bent on the inside. I'm still running the 2013 OEM wheels. Can it be repaired? Does it make sense to have it repaired? Or should I just try to buy a refurbished one off eBay?
I have a 2013 Speed with tech package. Does anyone know if it is possible to replace just the BOSE headunit with an aftermarket one that has carplay? All I really want is to have carplay. I don't really want to replace anything else.
Just wanted to say, the Luk repset clutch kit and Luk DMF make a great pairing. The clutch pedal is softer and easier to use than stock, but it bites just as hard if not better. I think these are definitely an upgrade over the oem setup.
I also took the opportunity to get the CS TMM inserts...
Hey guys, I was wondering if the LuK Repset 10064 Clutch kit already comes with everything needed for replacing the clutch? I was going to get the Mazda OEM Clutch Kit from Edge Auto, but the LuK Repset on RockAuto is cheaper.
I will be pairing it with the LuK OEM dual mass flywheel that was...
Last year I seriously debated selling my Speed3 for a more comfortable daily driver. I ended up keeping it by modifying my commute.
I elected to limit the number of "stop and go" instances on my commute, even if it meant paying a little more for tolls. This meant that I tried to stay on the...
