well...we sold the CX5. my wife decided she wanted an electric car so we are leasing a 2025 mach-e.
i like the mach-e better than the mazda after about a month to compare. we are again mazda-less.

and i was on m247 back in the day and did not enjoy it. i can't imagine it got better. maybe i'll see if i can reset my login info for funsies.
i'm in that group!
The cx5 group is such an odd one. There aren't really any forums dedicated to them that are useful, not that I've had a ton of questions. Facebook is where I find any info, like where to tap a power source to hardwire a dash camera. Turns out there's a plug you can buy on Amazon that'll go on...
sooo...since my wife bought a 2022 cx5 turbo with a 2.5 do i get to post without feeling like an outsider?
FNG question: does all the knowledge about the mazdaspeed 3/6 engines carry over to the 2.5 turbo engines?
this car seems to consume a little bit of oil and it's a known issue with...
i had hawk hps pads and cheap centric rotors which worked great. in fact, i have since put hawk pads on every car i've had since. i haven't had any issues with noise or warped rotors.
they put them on the trucks as part of a towing package. some say that shock technology has rendered the aux shock unnecessary, but i just leave it the way it was designed. the ride is as smooth as i'd expect a lifted 4x4 to be. and when i tow, everything performs well.
i don't run a...
is the smell perhaps the sweet perfume of a catless exhaust? the removal of catalytic converters will change the way your exhaust smells. but that's more of a sulfur smell.
it is a reduction, but not by much, it's generally seen as more of "maintaining stock gearing". however, stock tires were something that equates to about 30" tires. i've always had 31" tires on it. now on 33s and with the 4.10s it has better acceleration than ever.
i'll defer to the guys who are still in the MS3 game, but issue 1 sounds like it could be a fueling issue - specifically losing fuel pressure.
issue 2 - i would make sure the system is charged before doing anything else. you could buy a can of freon with a gauge on it easily enough. if it's...
well...it's been a minute and thought i'd check in.
bronco is running strong. it's now on a 2.5" lift, 33" tires, 4.10 gears, and i have detroit truetrac (limited slip) differentials front and back.
right about the time my wife's escape died, i ditched my fusion, too. but i was in a...
@Raider
What's up? You always told me to sell my escape before the transmission went out on me. Well, the escape died but it was the engine. I lost compression on #3. 0 psi. 243k miles on it. Was a pretty good run.
a little bit of upgrading and a little bit of maintenance.
i recently pulled the carpet in the back, and laid down some sound deadener.
and fresh carpet
replaced a leaky AC compressor. that's the UV dye
and some more parts collecting....eaton/detroit limited slip for the...
@Raider i'm checking in again. did you miss me?
sooo....earlier this year i finally got to do some engine work.
i replaced the heads with GT40 heads (same as what was on similar year mustangs) an edelbrock performer intake, bbk ceramic coated shorty headers, and i replaced the oem y-pipe...
i've done a few things to the bronco. not much to write home about. but, i did take the bronco down to corpus christi for vacation. that was pretty fun.
there were other folks around but not too many.
My oil pan gasket is a "reusable" one piece rubber gasket with metal reinforcement rings on each bolt. I used rtv at the front and rear seals.
I inspected the crankshaft for damage when I installed the rear main but it looked ok. I didn't take any measurements, though. We'll see in a few...
