Well finally got around to pulling turbo to replace it. Well can't say for sure it's my only problem but definitely a problem that needed to be fixed.
I will say it was somewhat a pain getting to some of the bolts. I'm a bigger guy and needles to say it was snug
I have 2007 mazdaspeed3.
I bought the Duralast Fuel Injection Pressure Sensor SU13475. Comparing to pressure from before it went out seem same at idle and acceleration.
Granted only drove it a couple times since this problem start just in case it got worse.
But sound is definitely on backside...
After installing versatune I was getting 18-20 lbs of boost and now only get max of 12
When car starts it makes a whine like power steering is low and as it warms up it reduces
I'm not self tuning but just trying to ask what could be an option and if so would expect to pay around xx.
Currently have versa tune and Autotech HPFP. So while not exactly at the point I can slap anything on and go i thought I'd ask to make sure I wasn't putting myself in a position I would...
So recently received error fuel pressure sensor malfunction, can remember code but replaced sensor and it resolved it. Oddly enough when I replaced fuel pressure sensor it started making a whine like I was low on power steering fluid. Sound increases with RPMs. I Confirmed all fluids were not...
Well think this maybe the issue. Car was running fine, no issues or hesitation and then back to missing. Haven't tried another coil yet but I think a where's Waldo of following wires is in my near future... yay...
To get my feet wet just going to use the pre loaded versa tunes. Down the read will Maybe try my hand at it or use a versa-tuner which is more likely. But for now really just want to enjoy the car. Maybe one day I'll think about going full send and trying to squeeze all the performance out of...
Well... fixed it... in order to double check since mistakes happen, clearly this is a perfect example, unplugged #1 coil to make sure no corrosion in the connections. Fire up car and it's still missing so I get out to unplug coil to see if idle changes... well it was still unplugged since I had...
Well fuel pressure is no longer an issue but still missing and getting error code P0301. I'm curious if coil is getting signal or worse case is compression is bad. Warmed up and then check for pressure with key on engine off. So bright side is the fuel system is good now lol
Well took WAYY longer then it should have to rebuild HPFP. The security torx bolts have probably never been removed in over 300,000+ miles. So the the seal at the pump looked newer but the others I'm sure have never been replaced. The filter in the pump with complete gone, only the brass fitting...
Received order today but got wrong part by accident. Called up graveyard performance and he quickly apologized and advised he'll be expediting the HPFP.
So car will be down a smidge longer. I'm just hoping this resolves issue and not something more indepth. But 1 step at a time is all I can do...
Now the fun part waiting for parts to arrive. Ordered from Graveyard Performance. Oddly was cheaper to order rebuild kit and upgrade to add pump internals then it was to buy pump internals and add rebuild kit. But hey I'm not complaining lol
Well got my hopes up for a second, there was still a zip tie to keep nut from falling but unfortunately stock internals. My guess is they removed upgraded pump before selling or it was rebuilt at least once before.
Either way ordered rebuild kit and new Autotech internals.
Not sure if that is...
Well replaced PRV and pressure has improved allot but misfire still persists and code P0301. Ran test twice to make sure and results were similar but different. PRV was very black inside. HIGHER pressure was first test. Pressure at idle has also improved too.
I do understand RPM and pressure is not directly related but just showing it does make pressure just instantly falls off. New PRV should arrive tomorrow so hopefully that resolves issue.
I was planning on replacing with upgraded internals for HPFP if it wasn't already but that was something for...
Ok redid test. Ran until was up to temp then ran logger with Versa tune with key on engine off. Once pressure started dropping turned off logging.
1) is holding at 2000 rpm
2) reviving to 3500
3) reviving to 6500
Definitely low pressure from everything I have seen
Yes ran for good 5 min and then turned off. Complete drop was with key off for a second. Turning key back on that was my pressure. Not sure I have the right sensor monitored. Gonna play with versa tuner see if I can logg off that. Bought a cable so should work better then cheap ELM327 Bluetooth...
