stiff brakes

Hello! I bought my Mazdaspeed 3 about 3 weeks ago now and I've been loving it, however have just been noticing an unusual problem. Its a 2008 gen 1 model, completely stock, and treated quite well by previous owners. Often after I accelerate quite fast and hit the brakes they feel really stiff...
