07 Speed3 - Rebuild

Hey there,

I am a new owner of a 2007 Mazdaspeed3. I recently sent my block, cylinder head and crank to get machined. I have a few questions about some parts to go with the rebuild.

1. I’m wondering which piston and rod set up will be best for a daily driver. The machine shop sleeved my one cylinder that got damaged and they machined them all to 0.5mm oversized.

2. I am wondering if there is a good kit that will have all the gaskets, seals, etc. that I need when putting it back together.

3. Should I stick with OEM head bolts or should I upgrade to ARP head studs?

Thank you for your help!

Manley platinum piston and h beam rods, you can get the pistons in 88mm, I'd toss on some clevite bearings. OEM headstuds are good for you to 500hp, mains I think people usually go with ARP. Also worth picking up a balance shaft delete because putting that thing back on balanced..well good luck.

Also edge has a kit if all gaskets etc

Make sure for the ARP Headstuds, DO NOT get the ARP2000s go with
-Custom Age 625+
-Freektune H11
-Edgeauto L19

theres a thread specifically talking about it, but to summarize arp2000 headstuds stretches and was probably made for the N/A 2.3 that happen to fits MZR-DISI

*for mainstuds ARP2000 is fine and its the only option we have.
