Year/Make/Model: 2007 Mazdaspeed 3
Mileage: 68,710 miles
Location/Alitutude: Alberta, Canada (3,500 ft above sea level)
Concern: The engine sputtered out at a stop light on a very cold day after the engine was fully warm. Check engine light popped up and the engine will no longer turn over.
DTC's: P2100 & B1318
Modifications: K&N Typhoon short ram intake installed at approximately 5,000 miles
ECU/Tuning Software: None
Tuner: None
Is the concern intermittent? No
Can you duplicate the concern? Yes
Recent Repairs: None
Additional Information: After the no start the vehicle was towed to a local garage who replaced the battery and throttle body. Neither solved the issue so It was then towed to the local Mazda dealership. The Mazda dealership diagnosed it as an internal failure of the PCM and recommended a replacement or repair. As the part is no longer available I sent the PCM to Flagship One to repair. They performed diagnostics and found no issues with the unit. I then purchased a used PCM from the same year and installed that and it still would not start. The dealership then spent approximately 5 hours checking out the wiring of the PCM for breaks and could not find any issues. I'm now out of ideas of what the issue could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The vehicle is in too good of condition to junk.

I'm thinking of basics. Fuel and spark come to mind. My car died when my autotechs hpfp internals seized. Also, check plugs. Look for damage or wear. A compression test also.

I'm sure you saw this: https://www.mazdaspeeds.org/index.php?threads/p2100-after-new-pigtail-for-throttle-body.12721/

Check throttle body wiring. Also, was the throttle body replacement oem or used/aftermarket?

I should mention that the engine does not turn over at all when I try to start it. The dash will light up with the check engine light.
I did change the spark plugs last year at approximately 65,000 miles.

The shop that changed the throttle body put in a brand new unit but it was not OEM Mazda as they said they could not source the part. I believe the brand was Cardone. I just checked the invoice and the mechanic noted after installing the throttle body "New DTC's found and ECM spiked TB. ECM spiked new throttle body". They never mentioned what the new DTC's were unfortunately.

I will check the wiring myself however I believe the Mazda dealership did inspect and test the wiring and harness and said there was no issues.

I appreciate the help.

See if you can find a part number on the throttle body.

Not even cranking at all? I wonder if the sensor is broken in the clutch pedal so the car won't crank over.
