I hit high water on Saturday when Harvey was starting, car bogged and would not restart. Intake was soaked. I had to have the car towed home. At some point during the storm, my parking lot flooded, a few people had water in their cars, some wouldn't start and they've had them towed to who knows where.
Anyway, I pulled my CAI apart, full of water. Turns out there was water in the Air intake, turbo, Intake manifold, and a little on top of the cylinders. plugs were wet, and there was just enough to cover the end of an extension.
Cylinders, Turbo, Air Intake, were dried. Oil pan dropped, cleaned. Some more water looked to come from the Trans side of the oil pan. No metal bits or pieces, everything looks intact on the crank. No sensors were touched.
New Plugs, new oil, everything dried out, put back together, and No Spark. Engine turns by hand with no issues, all fuses in engine bay look ok, also thought my Solenoid purge valve went out due to Fuel smell and EVAP not clearing for emissions, that was changed as well. Car does still have gas smell when cranking, so it is getting fuel to the cylinders, or appears to be anyway.
Ive checked connections, tried a few different things, and taken my time giving things time to dry out.
Does anyone else have any other thoughts or something else to look at or try before getting towed to the dealer, or worse case totaled by insurance? Only two long shots I have left and no way to test ATM, is compression check in case rings are damaged, or weak battery.
Does anyone else have any advice on what to try, look for, or check? I'm thinking it has to be something stupid simple I'm overlooking or not trying.
TL;DR - Part of Engine was under water, Water in intake system, Dried out, Maintenance done, Car Won't start.
