Anyone try Bilstein struts with Swift Springs?

I'm inclined to install the Bilstein B12 Prokit which comes with Eibach lowering springs but the drop is minimal compared to what Ive had for 10 years.

Has anyone tried Bilstein dampers with Swift springs?

Are you asking about Bilstein B8 with Swift Spec R Springs? I know people run them and that they are a known good combo. I have that exact setup waiting to be installed on my car.
 
ya...B8 Performance Plus dampers with Swifts. Not sure which spec Swifts. Ive seen these SWIFT springs carried by bunch of folks.

Do you know the spring rates on the Spec R Springs? The B12 Prokit from Bilstein comes with Eibach Sport spings which are round 200lbs in front and 180 in rear or some such thing.
 
ok so 250 lb/in = 4.5 kg/mm front and rear. Interesting. My KW V3s have vastly different spring rates front (400) to rear (2xx?) and Prokit does also have lower rates in the rear also.

Ill try and the B12 Prokit first and see how I like it as this is a matched set of Bilstein and Eibach.
 
Do I use the rear OEM bump stop with the rear Bilstein Prokit strut? The instructions are barebones.

I know the front Bilstein struts have internals bump stops. Not sure about the rear.

I brought this up in chat and Matt from DM said he usually trims them. He said he just trims a little at a time until he's happy. If I recall correctly sort of a trial and error process
 
trimming makes sense but the problem is the dust boot sits in a specific section of the bump stop so if you trim above that spot the boot wont stay on the bump stop.

Bilstein has some dust shields that look similar to the OEM ones that you could probably just put over the bump stops from the top. I'd take some measurements of the bumpstops and see if the Bilstein dust shields are wide enough.
 
Thanks. Ive barely had a chance to drive the car but 3 miles to listen for anything out of the ordinary and recheck torque specs.

If Bilstein tells you to reuse the OEM stuff youd think it would be appropriate for the struts and spring they are selling. (ha!) IT didnt come with any bumps stops or dust boots.

If I'm hitting the OWM bump stops I'll trim below the insertion and go from there. The OEM bump stops are super tall.
