As the title states, Beware of cheap parts for these cars.
I posted about an issue MONTHS ago regarding my GENPU MS3 not revving past 5500 RPMS. This Issue sent me down a rabbit hole of throwing parts "Parts cannon", Research and a lot of sleepless nights working on the car. I mean, I felt like I had literally done everything.
I did VVT set with all OEM parts, re-did the FMIC, New turbo, New boost controller, New BOV, New downpipe, New O2 sensors, new FPRV, new Crank position sensor and a new cam position sensor
Car still cut out at 5500 RPMS.
I wanted to sell it, I grew a hatred towards this car. Seemed like no matter what I did, it wouldn't rev past 5500 rpm.
Well I talked to people, Had someone look over the logs and they told me to check out my intake as it seemed like something was choking it, I didn't believe it because why would I? I had had the intake off 50+ Times at this point, I know everything looked good. But beyond my judgement, I went ahead and bought a Damond 3.5IN intake, and purchased a retune. Hell why not.
The day comes, I install the new intake and load the new basemap on. Go out, drive the car for 20 miles and finally its datalog time. I hit the highway, take off in 3rd and the car goes all the way to redline. I had never been so excited. The car worked now. The car FELT amazing.
After inspecting the old intake, The cheap, Chinese ZAP Turbo inlet pipe was actually vacuuming shut under boost. Whoda thunk it.
So please, If you're new here. BEWARE of cheap Chinese parts. They will cause you issues, and cost you ALOT of money in the process.
And also, don't cheap out on something that's NEEDED for your car to run right. I purchased the car with the Turbo inlet pipe installed!
