I have a 2009 Mazdaspeed 3 that is currently making me pull my hair out. On throttle the car will build boost till around 4K to 5k ish and either cut or hesitate boost then resume.
I have currently checked all my tubes and rebuilt my fmic to make sure there were good seals on the tubes. I do need to boost leak test. Checked the timing chain, it’s nice and tight no slop.
- New MAF sensor
- stretched ignition coil springs
- added fuel system cleaner
The car idles very strong never see it dip or rise. I do notice when coming to a stop the rpms will dip down really low and on one occasion the car died. The car also does suck gas like crazy.

Currently I have just put in ngk 1 step colder plugs gapped correctly.
The car has a injen intake, it’s straight piped, and a front mounted intercooler... and unfortunately a HKS ssqv bov I know MS3’s require recirculating the adapter is coming.
Codes:
P0139 prolly from straight pipe.
P2188 which is rich at idle bank 1, the downpipe has a small crack which is why I’m sure it’s running rich going to weld it tmr but I’m not sure it’s the cause of the boost issues .
