Brake boost issue after engine swap

Ok. I don't think the engine swap had anything to do with this but... I've been burned once assuming on this project already.

Car is running great now except brakes are stupid hard to push. I read that there's a check valve in the line. I pulled it to troubleshoot and found what looked like caked dirt? Pic attached. Cleaned it out, no impact. I tried blowing and sucking through the section with the check valve. I can't do either. Which surprised me. I expected to not be able to blow but shouldn't it show me to suck?

Just looking for a sanity check that this is bad and should be replaced.

I wonder how long it sat motorless. Could have a mud dobber nest. Get a fish tape at Harbor Freight or maybe one of those flexible picker upper things and run it down the pipe to the master to see if if is more clogged.

Also the piece with the check valves is concerning too. Pretty sure it's a 1 way and if it's clogged or broken that could be a problem.

Forgot to say, I was able to blow through the pipe towards the engine freely. When I sucked I got just a bit of dirt but it's cleared out now.

So, I'm rolling with bad check valve. Any reason we have to stick with stock specialty part here instead of just a pipe with check valve on the end like every other car out there?

No you can make your own hose
