Buying my speed6 Saturday!

What’s up everyone?? I’m Chris and I’m buying an 06 speed6 GT. Got a lot of ideas and interested to learn more about cars in general. One question I do have is will I need a tune. From where I’m buying it to Cheyenne Wyoming where I live is +4500 feet in elevation. I know I’ll lose power but wanted to make sure I wasn’t gonna hurt anything. Help is appreciated! I’m sure I’ll be on here all the time with questions! Look forward to getting to know the community!

Whalecum to MSO!

If you're modding the he's a tune is needed (hpfp internal upgrade before you do any power mods), if it's stock as bunny said everything will be fine

Welcome! Wyoming looks like a cool place to live. I searched for land to buy there and you can get a lot for a decent amount. How are the season's? How is work in that state overall?

Definitely get the HPFP upgrade first even if you're gonna keep a stock tune. Better to have good working Internals in there instead of ones that can fail prematurely or not hold enough pressure.

If you are unsure of the timing chain replacement or have no knowledge of when it was done consider doing that as soon as you can. Plenty of good write ups here to guide you through it.

Thanks! I’m guessing it is. All I can see that’s done is a CPE CAI

Well I’m from the south but I’m stationed here and not a fan. 8 months of winter, very cold and windy. So not for me! But small town feel and most of the people are nice! I’ve definitely heard HPFP is a must. I’ll have to research the timing chain stuff. Appreciate the help!

you get used to the cold winter, I'm originally from the southern hemisphere, at least you're not in Montana I'm north of you of the Canadian side.... Do you have a "dry" cold there? because that makes a huge difference, although the wind sucks we have seen <-58f with wind chill this winter, I do miss warm weather that came from being south.

I simply meant that winters would probably be worse, I'd love to visit Montana in the summer / hunting season
