Hey guys.

So I did was going to replace the injectors this weekend (got a good way into the project but had to abort.. daily driver with work tomorrow + raining a ton this weekend limiting time.. etc)

So i got the manifold off.. but time was limited so i put it all back together.. (didn't mess with injectors)..

now my car is running "off".. wont go into boost... stays at -6 boost almost always

It seems like its pulsing like it has a air leak somewhere.. i fixed a few and check it over.. so it should be 90%-95% leak free.. not enough to cause this unless im missed something. FMIC by the way.. i check the piping and tighened up some clamps..

CODES-- maf, and Map.. the maf is plugged in.. maybe it got wet..
Im pretty sure i plugged in the MAP sensor.. it was looking to make sure, but couldnt see it with everyting in the way.. Is there any easy way to tell? THIS IS LIKELY THE ISSUE im guessing

I did do a log, I can post it if it will help.. but basically it stays in vacuum the whole time.. ( i can hear the car go into boost) so maybe its a sensor? the access port has it PEGGED at around -6.. no real deviation..

no real engine knock.. fueling seems okay..

granted, im not a mechanic by any means.. so any advice is helpful lol\

Small side note.. orginally I had a air leak, and i could tell right away when i test drove it.. Fixed it , but the access port says it wont go into boost even after fixing the air leak..

check your connections "pretty sure" could mean disconnected. boost leak test? if everything is connected sounds like you've got quite the leak

Thank you!

When i first started it up.. I did a test run, and when i gave it some gas, it wouldn't boost at all.. I knew i forgot to connect one of the fmic pipes.. So i connected that and tighted up others..

Then back to another test run... it ran better for sure, but it wouldn't boost.. I could feel it boosting a bit but my access port said -6 ... basically at all times.. so that makes me think a senor is off or something.. i check the 2 port ebcs. looked okay..

The codes were MAP and MAF.. maf was hooked up.. now the MAP.. i need to really dig... can you see if with everything put on or do i need to start removing stuff to get to it? (it was dark when i put everything back together..)

Ill try to do a boost leak test soon as well.

to be honest.. i didn't get to do the injectors.. and i want to do the cleaning of valves.. so this is a temp set up till next time.. (hopefully soon)..

unfortunately its the daily driver so i need it to limp along until next surgery lol

you can get to the map sensor with your hand it's snug but you can get to it. you should see -9si atleast at idle if not you've got a leak. heck could be IM not sealing to head... been there copper gasket spray is a wonderful thing, sprayed on either side of the gasket and torque IM down on proper order.

Did you put the washer back on the lower intake manifold bolt (between the block and manifold)?

Did you put the washer back on the lower intake manifold bolt (between the block and manifold)?

No I didn't .. huh ... I didn't even know there was one lol..

I know things like that could cause a small leak, but this is something else..

If you tightened it down enough, you can crack the manifold. So, uh...cross your fingers you didnt.

washer is only there if running a thicker than OEM IM gasket

So is this washer already on the stock setup or something that is aftermarket that I need to source?

I bought a cs manifold gasket that needs to go on

If I just go without the washer, Could I just go a little easier on the bottom bolt and torque the top ones the correctly? As long as it doesn't leak, that doesn't seem like a problem correct?
Could I just get a generic washer or is it something special?

Sorry for all the questions ...

do not put a washer on with a stock gasket. The washer serves to add a space in the bottom mounting bolt to match the thickness of a thicker gasket.
if it's required for an aftermarket gasket it should come with one.

So just a quick update.. it was the map sensor..

It may have come unplugged.. how is that possible you ask? let me tell you!
So there is a little rubber thing that goes inside the sensor harness.. its like orange or something. I remember that fell out, and i put it back in.. but i put it in upside down, (there are little spikes on the sides of the rubber thing) they prevent it from clicking into place.. so if the rubber thing pops out.. now you know to check it and how to put it in..
--- or maybe i forgot to plug it in..

@Raider please mark this solved. thanks for your help guys!
