Cracked Transmission Case?

I usually just lurk around this forum but this evening when I got home from work I noticed a "spray" of oily fluid all over my driver side tire. I put the car up and saw this light brown oil all over the bottom of the tcase. It looks like a fairly large crack but thought I'd post here for opinions. More worried about what may have caused this than the crack itself. It's a MS3 Gen1 with about 118k. Pretty sure the clutch is original.20201207_171910.jpg 20201207_171830.jpg

I dont see in cracks...looks like there's some around the one fill plug and the cable pass through, red arrows assuming it's not dripping from the engine itself that is, do you see anything on the back /side of enigne?20201207_171830.jpg

Looked a little closer at the plug and cable pass thru and I don't think there are any cracks. Back of tcase/engine is clean. Put my camera up top and noticed a lot of moisture up there. I don't know what this is, but it looks like this might be the source. It was a lot of fluid if not all of it. Driver's side underneath is soaked all the way back from spray but everything forward of tcase is clean and bone dry.20201207_190933.jpg 20201207_191042.jpg

sounds like your pivot shaft seal shit the bed on you. here is a how to for it https://www.mazdaspeeds.org/index.p...haft-seal-bearing-breather-replacement.10062/

That's totally it. Thanks Awafrican! Phew. Thought it was a cracked tcase and I panicked. Looks like I have a project now. I had my son get in and shift through gears while underneath woth my cam so I could see the pivot shaft, and sure enough when he was shifting thru gears, it was oozing fluid. Geez, that made a huge mess for what it was.
