Does OCC location really matter?

Im upgrading from my home brew OCC to a DM unit and have been questioning location choice.
I had originally located my OCC in the engine bay off the clutch tube bracket. In that area, I would drain mostly residual condensation with some oil and usually smelling heavily of gasoline. I then moved my catch can to the horn bracket where I feel the temps around the can could be lower. I found that the amount of condensation in the can was less, but the amount of oil was slightly increased. However the overall amount of liquid in the can was reduced.
Location 1 is mounted on the horn bracket. Possibly a slightly cooler environment leading to more condensation of the oil laden gasses from the PCV.
Location 2 is mounted on the clutch tube bracket. Leading to easier hose routing.
Am I overthinking this, is there merit to the idea of OCC placement?

Just placed my order for a DM stage 1 can from GYP. I purchased the location 2 kit to locate in the engine bay, but short of a mounting bracket change(and possibly the drain valve), the rest of the kit must be the same.
A few things I considered...
1. My old aluminum can had an aluminum threaded plug on the underside. Over time the threads began to wear and the plug wouldnt seal. The DM can has a drain valve for location 2.
2. Having placed the old can in both locations, I found it much more difficult to route the hoses around the front belt drive and coolant hoses/rad fans etc required for location 1. Also considered, the possibility of wear on the hoses from vibration.
3. I hypothesize a can located in a cooler environment would work better at condensing the hot oil laden gasses compared to being located in the hot engine bay. This could be a moot point and the DM can will be an upgrade from my home built unit with copper tubes and stainless scrubbies. With the DM squeezed into the location 1 area, there isnt much air space around it and might not necessarily run any cooler anyways.
I already have a lot of kit located around the same area in the engine bay to locate the can there. I have the WMI and solenoid mounted under my home built air box. There is enough room for it underneath, here...
