Exhaust crackle and pop

My Speed3 is a bit of a mystery machine. Im the 4th owner, and the guy I purchased it from has no idea what, if any engine and exhaust mods were done. He claims its all stock. After changing the oil and putting some fuel injector cleaner in the tank, I'm getting some crackle and pop when lifting of the throttle in 4th. Would that occur on a stock setup?

If it started with just the cleaner, drive out the tank. Ideally, a hpfp upgrade and a, custom tune can get you a well running speed.

I have a parts list. Getting stuff together. Its running well engine-wise now. Putting new plugs in this weekend. Suspension is trash

Perv. Don't know the brand but I don't like the way the MAF is situated. My old Mazdaspeed CAI kept that piece about here...

Just changed the plugs. I'm assuming FoMoCo is Ford Motor Co. Replaced with the NGK 6510.

Will do as soon as I get a chance. I think one of the previous owners got all their mods from CP-E. Trying to figure this shit out without ripping the car apart is aggravating.
