I decided to start a thread so we can discuss the weekend of October 21-23.
*The Microtel hotel in town is fully booked.
*There are no campsites with electricity available at Cheoah Campground
*The other sites are on a first-come, first-served basis. So they can't be reserved.
*I have no idea how many tents the sites hold, which means I don't know how many we'll need.
*It will be chilly at night and in the morning. Pack accordingly.
That leaves us with few options. I believe there is a good chance that some sites will be available when we show up. Then again, maybe not. In the meantime, everyone please research other options in the general area. It's the western NC mountains...there HAS to be something available, right? Right?
Anyway, I'm planning to give it a go. I will leave the Atlanta area around 1 p.m. on Friday, and stay through Sunday morning. I doubt we can make a caravan work, so I'll just meet up with any other attendees at camp.
